When a North Carolina police officer was driving home from work, he came across a man sitting on the edge of a highway bridge.
The Department of Transportation’s traffic cameras caught the touching moment Raleigh Senior Officer D.V. Hicks pulled the man in for a long hug. “He was getting that hug whether he wanted it or not,” Hicks told CNN.
The cop slowly approaches the suicidal man and convinces him to get down from the ledge of the bridge.
Once he could get close enough, the police officer reached for the man’s arms, and helped him to safety.
In an incredible sign of compassion, the cop gave the man a big hug, and continued to hold his hand as they walked away from the ledge.
