Every parent knows that small children need to be supervised at all times when they’re around pools and bodies of water, which is why one Mexican mother couldn’t understand how her daughter drowned in a hotel pool since her husband told her he had been watching her.
The devastated mom, who works as a nurse, had been napping in the family’s hotel room while her three-year-old daughter and her husband went out to the pool to play. Later that day, she found her baby girl unconscious and not breathing. The panicked mom rushed her daughter to the hospital with Jose David N., her husband and the girl’s stepdad, but soon found out that the 3-year-old was dead.
The devastated mom couldn’t figure out what had possibly happened, but then was shown shocking footage from the hotel’s surveillance camera where Jose was seen tossing their daughter into the pool even though he knew she couldn’t swim and did nothing to save her.
The little girl is seen helplessly flailing her arms in the water as she desperately tried to stay afloat, however, neither her stepdad or any of the other bathers did anything to save her. In fact, Jose is seen tossing the girl in multiple times, walking away from the pool as she struggled, and holding her under the water by her hair. At one point, Jose tossed in a floatation device, but the tiny girl was too far away to grab it.
The tragic death occurred in August 2015, but Jose has just been charged and convicted for 100 years without the possibility of parole. At first, prosecutors suggested he serve 40 years in prison, but after the judge saw the shocking CCTV footage, he added 60 years to the sentence.
