Parents will do anything to teach their children a lesson, but one Florida mom has gone viral for what she did to teach her two sons an important lesson.
Mother of two Leslie Eggenberger wants her sons Max and Jacob to never be afraid of what other people think and decided to teach them by example by dressing up in a T-Rex costume to walk her boys to school and pick them up.
“I want them to be uniquely themselves and never question what they do because of what people think,” Leslie said. “I try to do things like that with them all the time, but I guess this one is more extreme and it got a lot of attention.”
“My 7 and 8-year-old boys love watching me wear the T. rex outfit,” Leslie said. “I want to teach them to not care what people think about them, to just be brave and do whatever you want to do.” Leslie knew her costume would attract attention but never planned on it going viral. However, while walking to school, a passerby took a video of her and posted it online.
“It is really cool that she is doing it, and I think it’s great that she’s doing it,” said Leslie’s son Jacob. “I hope a lot of people actually, maybe, show it to their kids and just do things like that with their kids, because this is also what our kids are going to remember, these silly memories that we make together,” said Leslie, who plans to continue to wear the costume to school to make people smile.
