Pools evoke feelings and memories of summer, care-free fun, and childhood, which is what makes the world’s largest pool so awesome.

This pool, which holds the Guinness World Record for largest pool in the world, calls the private resort San Alfonso del Mar in Algarrobo, Chile home. It was built by Chilean company Crystal Lagoons, and took over five years to construct.

The mammoth pool is 3,323 ft long, or 6/10ths of a mile!

It took 3.5 million pounds of sand to fill in the sand beaches along the pool’s shore.

The pool is so large that you can sail, kayak, jet ski, and even scuba dive in it.

The water used to fill the gigantic pool actually comes from the ocean, but it goes through a filtering process so it is completely purified before entering the pool.
