No matter what the weather looks like outside, no matter if the roads are covered in snow, ice, or are flooding, ambulances and other first responders are required to work to ensure the public stays safe.
Yet, when this FDNY ambulance and police cruiser were on duty during Winter Storm Jonas, they got stuck in a deep snow bank in Brooklyn and needed some rescuing themselves.
Luckily, some kindhearted strangers happened to be nearby and helped shovel the truck out of the snow, so it could get back to work.
The ambulance was just trying to make a turn onto a snow-covered Brooklyn Street when the truck began sliding down a hill and finally was left buried in a snow bank it had crashed into.
“I was shoveling the walk, and I saw it was down the block, and I was worried about the neighbor down there, so when I saw it stuck I thought I should do what I could to get it out,” the good samaritan said.
