Many people unfairly assume muscly dog breeds like Pit bulls, Bulldogs, and Rottweilers are innately mean and dangerous, which is why no one stepped in to help this sweet pup, who had been lost and looked lonely and disoriented.
Deputy Donald Molchan was out on patrol in the area when he first spotted the dog wandering around outside of a gas station on his own. He immediately stopped to see if he could help the dog, who was neutered and wearing a collar, find his owners or, at the very least, help him get to a shelter safely.
Despite his ‘dangerous’ appearance, the Pit bull melted when finally shown some love. “It became clear almost immediately that the dog was just a big friendly pup looking for his home,” the sheriff’s department wrote in a post to Facebook. “Deputy Molchan described the dog as super friendly, playful and comfortable around people.”
Molchan managed to feed the dog, give him water, and then finally snapped a few selfies with the sweet dog before giving him a ride to the Pima Animal Care Center where his family will hopefully find him.
