If you’ve ever been out in public with a small child, you’ll know how easily people get distracted by their cuteness and actually drop what they’re doing to come over and say hello.
One shameless dad knew how people typically responded to seeing his adorable little girl out with him and how they let their guards down around him when she was with him, and decided to take advantage of it by bringing her out shopping in Essex, UK one afternoon.
In the footage, which the cell phone shop’s security cameras caught, the man lifts his daughter up and places her on the counter to distract the staff.
The worker at the counter thought the man was just being an attentive dad, however, the moment she turns away to help another customer, the shameless dad reaches his left hand around the counter and grabs a Samsung phone worth about $200.
“The man was taking a massive risk because the door to our back office is there as well,” said staff member Adam Keys. “For two people to gang up like that is pretty horrible, but then to use your child as a human shield is really despicable.”
