Parents will do anything to protect their kids, which is why one dad decided to take matters into his own hands after both their school AND the police refused to do anything to protect his kids from a vicious bully.
Soon after dad Christopher Cooper enrolled his two children, 11-year-old Millie and 9-year-old Braiden, at a new school, they started coming home in tears and covered in bruises as a school bully started attacking them almost daily. Cooper immediately notified the school after every incident, yet the abuse continued for over 12 months.
With no options left, Cooper took to his Facebook page to vent his frustrations in a post, which quickly went viral in March. Even after Millie was pushed to the ground and kicked in the ribs, had her glasses stomped on, and had drinks poured on her, and Braiden was brutally beaten multiple times, had his arm broken, and was verbally abused, the police and the school failed to protect the kids.
“Feel absolutely lost,” Cooper wrote. “Both have been so emotionally affected that I’m concerned Millie is on the verge of having an eating disorder, Braiden has been caught physically making himself sick to avoid going to school. Cumbria police say it’s a school issue despite some assaults taking place outside of school, North Walney Primary School, response has been to punish the bully by phoning his parents – clearly an effective policy for 12 months.”
“Finally at the end of my tether I approached the bully with my daughter. I will be honest – I told her to pin him up against the fence, knee him in the balls and tell him not to touch you again, sadly she didn’t because she feared of repercussions from ‘his gang’. Instead it was left to me to challenge him, I told him straight to leave my kids alone or there would be consequences. I didn’t touch him, I certainly didn’t threaten him,” Cooper explained.
As a result, Cooper was issued a two-year restraining order from the bully, was sentenced with a Section 5 public order offense, and was forced to pay a fine for taking matters into his own hands and ‘bullying’ the bully.
“I was prosecuted for telling him there would be consequences if he didn’t leave my kids alone – so if you’re in a similar circumstance think and act very carefully,” Cooper said.
