When one Missouri woman suddenly started hearing a strange crying noise outside a window of her home, she searched everywhere but couldn’t figure out where the noise was coming from.
Beth Sharman checked both inside and outside the house, yet was never able to find anything. But as time passed, the cries grew louder and more distressed, which is when she finally figured out that the terrified cries were coming from a tiny kitten that must have fallen in her window well drain and gotten trapped.
“I have been trying to dig out and cut back some of the plastic drain since it sounds like he is so close. I stuck my phone close to the opening and took a picture to see if I could see the kitten but can’t see him,” Sharman desperately wrote to Facebook to try and find help.
Luckily, Jeremy Whited of Dun’ Right Plumbing saw the post and came to the kitten’s rescue. “This is the first cat that I have ever taken out.” Whited said. “I’ve pulled a lot of strange things out of drains. This is a first for me.”
After being trapped for at least two days, Whited finally managed to free the trapped kitten by tying a knot around the kittens tail and gently pulling him free.
And after saving the little baby’s life, Whited even decided to give it a real home. “I just kind of felt like it was the right thing to do,” he said. “I knew that my little girl and my little boy would give it an awesome home.”
