For kids, a bed is not just the thing they sleep in every night; it can also be their own personal, indoor trampoline that provides hours of entertainment.
However, one Chinese toddler learned that hard way that there’s a reason his parents were always yelling at him to stop jumping on the bed when he slipped, fell, and landed straight on top of a power plug on the ground that punctured his head and actually got stuck in his brain.
The two-year-old boy, whose name has not been released but is being called “Chen Chen”, had been playing in his room and jumping on the bed at around 11 p.m. on November 5th. According to his mom, he accidentally stepped on a plastic ball, which made him lose his balance, and fell to the floor.
Because of the force of his fall, a power plug that was lying on the floor got lodged through his skull and into his brain, and the family rushed Chen Chen to the hospital immediately once they discovered what had happened. Once at the hospital, a scan revealed the extent of the damage and immediately sent the two-year-old in for a three-hour emergency surgery. Luckily, doctors managed to remove the plug, and Chen Chen will be sent home to recover in two weeks.
