Usually, when a server is left speechless after they look at a customer’s check, it’s because the customer that they have literally waited on hand and foot during an entire meal has left little or no tip.
Thankfully, however, when an Arizona waitress from the Pita Jungle looked at a patron’s check, she was left speechless for a completely different reason. After serving a couple, Sarah Clark hoped she’d make somewhere between 10 to 20 percent of their $61.30 bill.
Yet when Clark, who is pregnant and could go into labor at any moment, looked down at the check after the couple walked out of the restaurant, she was shocked to see they left her a $900 tip. “This is God’s money — he gave it to us so we could give it to you. God Bless,” the couple wrote on the bill.
With a baby coming any day now, the money couldn’t have come at a better time especially since her fiancé is scheduled to have surgery this week. “I couldn’t have asked for anything more right now,” Clark said. “It’s going to help with bills, with rent, with being able to stay home and spend some more time with my baby.”
