Emergency first response crews like firemen and police dedicate their lives to helping people in need 7 days a week, 365 days a year, which is why it’s easy to forget how much of their personal lives they sacrifice in order to keep total strangers safe.
To help thank the courageous men and women who help keep their town safe, two young Missouri boys, Aiden and Nathan, decided to set up a lemonade stand, and give the money raised to the Lee’s Summit Police Department.
“I feel like you haven’t really seen anybody thanking any of them right now, so this is for them,” Aiden said
After an entire afternoon selling lemonade with signs that read “Help Us Thank Our Police,” Aiden and Nathan managed to raise $50 for their local first responders. The boys then went out and bought donuts, sodas, and cinnamon rolls for the police department and fire department.
“We felt like the police had done so much for us, and they have nothing in return,” Nathan said. “They deserve a treat. They keep us safe.”
