Many parents and guardians are obsessed with capturing their child’s every move and milestone on camera, however, in an effort to capture the perfect photo of a little boy during a trip to the zoo, one relative actually put a little boy in serious danger.
As we’ve recently seen in the news, zoo animals are still extremely dangerous and can easily harm people and small children, so to protect both humans and the animals, zoos do their best to create effective barriers between people and the exhibits. Unfortunately, not all zoo-goers respect the zoo’s efforts.
In an attempt to get a good picture of a little boy, who has not been identified, while visiting the rhino enclosure at the Dublin Zoo, a male family member actually lifted the boy up and over a fence so he could get closer to the giant animals for a picture.
“It was such a stupid thing to do. He was only meters away from the rhinos. People were totally horrified,” an onlooker said.
For 20 minutes, the child stood inside the rhino enclosure, and the man was heard actually trying to convince the little boy to get even closer to the rhinos, who stood facing the boy that was encroaching on their space.
Thankfully, the little boy was lifted back over the fence unharmed, but the Dublin Zoo is now opening up an investigation. “It’s completely against Dublin Zoo’s health and safety rules but it is being looked into at the moment,” a spokesperson for the zoo said.
