Parents are used to finding some crazy things inside their children’s bedrooms when they start cleaning, yet one Australian mother-of-two was stunned by what she found inside her 6-year-old son’s room.
Mother-of-two Crystal Hill had been spending her Friday cleaning up the house while her kids were still at school, and while cleaning up her son Jonah’s room, she found a Kinder Surprise container inside her son’s old school bag. Yet instead of finding a toy inside like usual, she found two small baggies with chunky salt crystals. “At first of course I was shocked,” Hill wrote in a post to Facebook. “I showed Dan when he got home from work and he too was of course shocked!”
“After school we got the kids together and asked where it came from. Jonah has an amazing memory and recalled finding it in the gutter at a local second hand store (weeks ago)….innocently he assumed it fell out of the car (with the amount of crap they stash in the back seat it was a highly likely scenario) he then just popped in his pocket. Fortunately and thank God he didn’t taste what he assumed was just salt crystals,” Hill explained.
“He didn’t know that what he had could kill him, which is our fault.” Dan Hill wrote on Facebook. “We’ve talked about drugs but as far as he knew he had two bags of salt. So so lucky he didn’t eat them or we would have lost him without doubt. He was a total mess when we told him what it was, he had no idea.”
“Please share,” said Dan who shared their experience to hopefully keep other kids safe. “The more parents that see this the better. This could have turned out so much worse. We are so very lucky. We just want to keep kids safe as this stuff is everywhere and it’s not going away.”
What would you do if you found something like that in your child’s room? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with parents on Facebook to spread Crystal’s warning.
