Some dog owners get criticized for dressing their pets up in sweaters and boots and even dying their hair crazy colors, but that’s nothing compared to what one Brazilian man did to his own dog.
Emerson Demasceno, a tattoo artist from Poços de Caldas, thought it would be cool to give permanent tattoos to his white bull terrier. However, after posting photos of his dog and his completed work to Facebook, many slammed the artist, who has since deleted all of his accounts on social media, for animal cruelty.
The bull terrier, whose name has not been released, was forced to get five painful tattoos, and many of them were placed in highly sensitive areas like the tear ducts and ears. On its snout, Demasceno tattooed an anchor, brass knuckles, and a diamond. He also gave his dog a star pattern on the tear ducts and the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball logo in each ear.
At first, Demasceno claimed the tattoos were to prevent cancer, however, veterinarians quickly came forward and explained that the tattoos not only did nothing to prevent cancer, but they might even cause the dog harm.
