Emergency room doctors are used to making snap decisions to save lives in life or death situations, which is why one Turkish doctor didn’t hesitate to help even when his patient turned out to be a stray cat.
While trying to sneak into the Özel Akgün Tem Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey, a white stray cat almost lost his life after accidentally getting crushed inside the hospital’s revolving door. A crowd immediately gathered to try and free the animal who was clearly in pain, however by the time they managed to get him free, he had suffered a heart attack and was unconscious.
Emergency room doctor Halil Akyürek rushed over to help when he saw the cat and immediately got to work trying to revive him through CPR. Thankfully, the cat started breathing again after a few minutes. Halil then gave the cat oxygen to help stabilize him and contacted a vet to find out what medicine he needed and how to give them.
The can miraculously made a full recovery, but Halil couldn’t bear the idea of turning the cat away while he was still so fragile and decided to not only save his life but get him out of danger by adopting him and giving him a forever home.
