This Teen Mom Had To Bring Her Daughter To All Of Her College Classes: Now They’re Finally Graduating

Many college students struggle to find a balance between their school work and their ‘busy’ personal lives, yet this young mother just proved the old saying ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way,’ as she managed to finish her degree while bringing her toddler along to every single class.

Everyone had high hopes for Vin-zl Vincente after she was the valedictorian of her high school class, but when she became pregnant and gave birth to her daughter, Vianca, everyone assumed her life and dreams, which included graduating college, were over. Yet, Vincente knew she could achieve anything as long as she wanted it.

“I don’t regret anything because the moment you came into my life, everything changed, because of you, I matured. Childhood and being a young woman is what I may have lost when I got pregnant, but not my dreams and everything else that I know I can do. It’s true what they say: if you want it enough, there are many ways; if you don’t, there are many reasons,” Vincente wrote in a post to Facebook.

Rather than give up on her dream of going to college and graduating, Vicente enrolled at Cavite State University, in the Philippines, and began bringing her then 2-year-old daughter with her to every single class.

“I start crying when I think about all our hard work. It’s difficult being a student and a mother: when you’re taking an exam and carrying your sleeping child while answering exams with matching computation too. I was shaking and nervous then but I needed to answer the exam without waking you up; I wanted you to be comfortable even when I was not.”

Together, Vincente and Vianca passed calculus, accounting, basic finance and the rest of Vincente’s classes.

Vincente was determined to finish her degree without missing her child grow up, and despite the early mornings and late nights filled with school work and mommy-duty, the two finally made it to their graduation day after four years of hard work.

“I cry when I think about all of that… but I am lucky because I am the only college student who truly carries with her a lucky charm.”

Parents are responsible for shaping their children’s beliefs and the way they see the world, but it seems this mom and dad took advantage of their gullible children as they play a hysterical prank with one of their favorite foods.

To celebrate April Fools’ Day, these parents decided to play an elaborate trick on their kids, and made them believe that you can grow donuts from donut seeds.

On the morning before April Fools’ Day, dad gave his son a bag of ‘donut seeds,’ which were actually just a bunch of Froot Loops, and told his gullible son and daughter that they were going to grow their very own donuts in a pot in their backyard.

The next morning, the kids were amazed when they saw freshly sprouted donuts peeking out of the soil, and were tempted to pick them right away. However, dad convinced his donut obsessed kids to wait until after school when they would be fully grown.

When the kids finally returned home from school, they raced to the backyard to check on their donuts, and couldn’t believe how much better the fresh donuts tasted compared to the normal store-bought ones.

Domestic Violence Shelter Takes In Victims And Their Pets

Animal owners will do just about anything to keep their beloved pets safe, even if that means putting themselves in danger. In fact, about 48% of abuse victims choose to stay with their abusers becuase they have no place to bring their pet, and their innocent animals would likely become victims of abuse if left behind.

To help give victims more freedom to leave an abusive situation, the Domestic Violence Intervention Program, which provides crisis intervention as well as support for victims of domestic abuse in Iowa, just announced that their shelter, Cooper’s House, would be adding boarding facilities to their property so that victims wouldn’t have to choose between abuse and their pets.

The new facility will have indoor kennels for dogs, a fenced in space for dogs to play, as well as an indoor space that can house 12 cats at a time.

While the new pet program will cost an estimated $30,000 per year, developmental director for DVIP Missie Forbes explained it was just another way they could help victims live a life free from fear.

On top of the incredible new space for animals, DVIP is training a Golden Retriever as a therapy dog for victims at Cooper’s House, and is hiring a part-time pet therapist for any animals that had also been abused.

Mary Pat Siess has spent ten and a half years of her life fighting an aggressive form of Leukemia, which is why she jumped at the chance to make a birthday cake for a special new client who had also been diagnosed with cancer at just 6-years-old.

Despite fighting her own cancer for nearly half of her own life, Mary Pat managed to graduate from college and hold down a job at a local bakery. She knows firsthand what it’s like to fight such an aggressive disease, and even though she has spent the last six years and is still currently fighting her latest relapse, Mary Pat wanted to ensure the sick little girl was able to have the birthday party- and cake- of her dreams on such a special day.

Animals are incredibly resilient creatures who are capable of thriving after tragic accidents like losing a limb or losing their vision. Despite completely losing his eyesight in one of his eyes, Willy the cat had managed to survive on his own in the wild.

However, by the time Willy was found wandering a rural area in Parkland, Florida, his eye was terribly infected, and it needed to be removed before the infection could spread and cause more damage. A local veterinarian offered to donate about $1000 of free services for Willy’s surgery, but it was still $600 short of what the total treatment would cost.

Willy’s caretakers were desperate to save the sweet 2-year-old cat, who was otherwise completely healthy, so they turned to the internet for help. In less than two hours, people on Facebook came together and donated almost $250 more than they needed.

Emergency first response crews like firemen and police dedicate their lives to helping people in need 7 days a week, 365 days a year, which is why it’s easy to forget how much of their personal lives they sacrifice in order to keep total strangers safe.

To help thank the courageous men and women who help keep their town safe, two young Missouri boys, Aiden and Nathan, decided to set up a lemonade stand, and give the money raised to the Lee’s Summit Police Department.

“I feel like you haven’t really seen anybody thanking any of them right now, so this is for them,” Aiden said

After an entire afternoon selling lemonade with signs that read “Help Us Thank Our Police,” Aiden and Nathan managed to raise $50 for their local first responders. The boys then went out and bought donuts, sodas, and cinnamon rolls for the police department and fire department.

Strangers Turn Flight Into Touching Tribute For Flight Attendant With Cancer

Most people can’t stand the idea of being stuck on a plane for hours at a time, but LouAnn Alexander made a career out of it and she loved every minute of it. So when she was abruptly forced to retire from being a flight attendant, her brother found a way to give her the send-off she deserved.

LouAnn had dedicated 30 years of her life as a flight attendant, and figured her back pain was caused from years of lifting heavy bags into the overhead carry-on compartments. However, when the 58-year-old who had beat breast cancer twice went in to see a doctor a few weeks ago, they discovered her back pain was actually a symptom of pancreatic cancer, which had already spread.

In just a few short weeks after being diagnosed, LouAnn managed to take care of every last detail of her funeral arrangements so her family wouldn’t have anything to worry about after she passed away yet never got to say goodbye to her coworkers and have a traditional retirement party.

While on his way to see his sick sister, Rex Ridenoure decided to use his flight to somehow give her the farewell she deserved. “It seemed so sad to me that she couldn’t depart the airline the way she would have wanted, one with an official retirement party,” he said. “So I wanted to make that flight somehow her last flight, but I was scrambling for ideas.”

With the help of the flight attendants, some of whom had worked with LouAnn, Rex was allowed to stand up in front of the flight and summarized who his sister was, her flying career, and what had happened in the previous six weeks. Amazingly, nearly 100 passengers wrote her notes on napkins, made her paper flower bouquets, and one passenger even managed to crochet a cozy headband in case she might undergo chemotherapy and lose her hair.

Rex shared the 96 messages with his sister and on his Facebook so everyone could see her story. “My sister doesn’t like sob stories,” Ridenoure said. “One of the messages we’re trying to get through is that, while this is all definitely a sad story, please go get yourself checked if you have a weird symptom. Don’t take it for granted that it’s just a crick in your back.”

“That whole flight for me has shown me, hey, the world is not so negative if you just have the right spark. It sure seems like there’s a large portion of the population that are inherently nice, and can be nice if given the opportunity.”

Wounded Military K-9 Gets Awarded With Highest Honor For Her Bravery

Military K-9 dogs are responsible for saving thousands of soldiers during military conflicts around the world by using their keen senses to sniff out danger. Like any brave soldier, their service deserves to be recognized and honored.

In just six years, one German Shepherd U.S. Marine dog named Lucca managed to complete 400 missions and protect thousands of lives while serving with the allied troops in Afghanistan and Iraq before ultimately having to retire after losing a leg on the battlefield.

To honor her for her service, Lucca and her handler Gunnery Sergeant Christopher Willingham were flown from California to London where she received the PDSA Dickin Medal, the animal version of the Victoria Cross, which is the highest British military honor. “Thousands of service members have come home because of the capabilities of our dogs,” Willingham said. “It’s always great to see their actions on the battlefield being recognized.”

Before losing her leg in an explosion, Lucca’s loyalty, intelligence, and drive made her the perfect partner for Willingham, and luckily none of that changed after her injury. “She had her surgery and amazingly within 10 days she was walking around again,” Willingham said. “The best part is that she has the same personality as she had before the blast.”

The PDSA Dickin Medal has been given to 29 dogs, 32 WWII messenger pigeons, three horses, and one cat, yet this is the first time an American military K-9 is being honored with the award. “I know you don’t understand the words but I hope you sense the human warmth, gratitude and pride that we all feel for your heroism and for a job extremely well done,” said Retired Maj. Gen. Dean G. Sienko as he addressed Lucca directly.

“It is very humbling to be part of this entire process,” Willingham said. “I think more importantly is that Lucca’s accomplishments are going to help bring awareness and recognition to all our military working dogs and their handlers.”

We tend to believe that how a child behaves is directly related to how good or bad of a parent they have, which is why so many parents want to believe their sweet babies are always innocent. In fact, many parents will even ignore or deny that their child could have any part in bullying another child.

However, when Donielle Dabney started hearing that her daughter was involved in bullying a classmate, she immediately punished her for her actions, and then called upon other parents to step up and stop making excuses for their children when they do something as damaging as bullying.”

“Got wind that my daughter was playing a part in a bullying act…I pulled over in the middle of the street and whooped that ass,” Donielle wrote in a post to Facebook. “Walked her in school and made her bypass her locker and go straight to the little girl she kicked and apologize to her..I apologized to her and let her know Kelsey is not raised that way.”

“And as for recess…Kelsey will be sitting in class writing an apology letter to that little girls mom because I can only imagine how she feels (because I know I would have raised hell if it was my child)!!!!” Donielle continued. “Parents teach your kids that bullying is not ok!!!! Kids are committing suicide these days!!! I WILL NOT RAISE BULLIES AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!! IT STARTS WITH US….LETS BE AWARE!!!”

After her honest post to Facebook was shared nearly 45,000 times, Donielle thanked everyone while also reminding everyone to take a more active role in their children’s lives.

Mom Said No To Getting A Pet Dog, So He Got An Alpaca Instead

For kids, getting a dog means endless furry cuddles and always having an adorable friend to play with, but for mom, getting a dog means chewed up furniture, constant vacuuming, and expensive vet visits, which is why this mom said ‘no’ when her 13-year-old son begged her for a pet dog.

Since a pet dog was now officially out of the question, Matt turned his attention to his other favorite animal: an alpaca. While his 2-year-old pet alpaca named Chewy can’t do everything a dog can do- like play fetch- he loves going for runs on the beach, going for swims, and running beside Matt as he skateboards.

Chewy, who was the runt of the litter, was purchased from an Australian alpaca farm and brought home to live with Matt and his family. Luckily for mom, he’s easier to take care of than a dog, yet loves to chew on furniture (hence his name) and sometimes spits at people.

Alpacas live for about 20 years, so Chewy and Matt have a long life together full of adventures, which Matt documents and posts to Chewy’s very own Instagram account that currently has over 6,000 followers.

5-Year-Old Girl With ‘Visual Bucket List’ Met Pope Francis

When given the news that their 5-year-old daughter was losing her eyesight, mom and dad were crushed that their daughter would never get to see so many incredible things. But instead of wasting the precious time she did have left, parents Christine and Steve decided to show Lizzy as many wonders of the world that they could manage.

At just five-years-old, doctors diagnosed Lizzy Myers with Usher’s syndrome, a degenerative condition that causes hearing and vision loss. To make the most of Lizzy’s remaining vision, the Ohio family started a ‘visual bucket list’ of things they wanted Lizzy, who doesn’t know about her condition, to experience with her eyes before going blind.

“Once we got over the initial shock of all of that we realized that we have to do as much as we can to let her see as many wonderful things as possible,” Steve said.

The list includes many simple experiences like catching fireflies, seeing a rainbow, swimming in the ocean, and viewing the stars and the moon. So far, Lizzy has visited the Warren Rupp observatory, and recently traveled to Rome to visit the Vatican where they hoped a miracle would let them meet the pope.

Astonishingly, Pope Francis met with Lizzy after greeting the crowds in the Vatican and blessed her. “The meeting with the pope was absolutely amazing. I’d never expected in a million years that we would come that close to the pope,” Steve Myers, Lizzy’s father, told the Associated Press. “We first started this adventure with Turkish Airlines, you know, we thought maybe there was a chance we’d be able to get to the general audience and we’d be out there in the crowd.”

“You know, I believe myself, and I think that what Pope Francis has done for her, if there is any chance for a miracle, it would be there,” Steve said. “He asked that we pray for him and said that he would be praying for us.”

A home might just be For many senior citizens still living in their own home, a tidy, well-kept home is the last sign of their independence and competence, which is why an 81-year-old Texas man was so determined to mow his lawn.

Roy Haley couldn’t stand the sight of his overgrown lawn, and figured he could cut the grass himself as long as he was careful and took his time. “I just felt so useless, and I bought me a lawnmower, and I thought that I could get on it,” Haley said. “And I finally did.”

But moments after starting his project, Haley’s legs, which have poor circulation, gave out and he fell to the ground. Haley’s wife immediately called 911, but thankfully the EMS crew arrived quickly and nothing serious had happened to Haley.

First responders told Haley not to try to get back on the lawnmower to finish what he started, but firefighter Brelan Fox decided he would finish the project to be sure Haley wouldn’t get hurt again.

Orphaned Baby Rhino Uses New Human ‘Mom’ As Pillow

Almost any baby in the animal kingdom needs some tender love and care from mom, but when this baby rhino lost his mother to poachers, he turned to his new human ‘mom’ for care, cuddles, and protection.

When baby Kabelo found himself alone and an orphan in the wild after losing his mother, The Rhino Orphanage in South Africa opened their doors to him to let him grow in a protected environment until the day he can hopefully be reintegrated back into the wild, where he belongs.

When Kabelo first entered the orphanage, Australian veterinary nurse Laura Ellison began caring for him and the two have formed a special bond as she stepped in as his mother. Recently, Laura shared a video of Kabelo and her snuggling together to show how incredibly forgiving and affectionate these creatures can be towards people they trust.

“While I want you all to experience the gentleness of rhinos, to fall in love with them as I have and inspire the same desperation I have to save them, I must stress the relationship I have with our rhinos that allow these experiences.”

“I have been with Kabelo since his arrival to the orphanage and we have developed such a strong bond. While Kabelo is so comfortable with me, he is not with many others. Please appreciate that he is still a wild animal… But also with the capacity to love so forgivingly,” Ellison wrote along with the video that showed Kabelo using her stomach as a pillow.

Newborn babies require the gentlest care even at full-term, yet those born just a few weeks premature can be terrifyingly delicate for new parents, which is why one organization decided to run a campaign showing preemies all grown up.

A premature baby is defined as any baby born before 37 weeks, and the less time the baby gets to spend in the womb, the more the baby is at risk for a slew of health complications like hearing and vision impairments, learning disabilities, and even neurological disorders.

Instead of spending those first few days at home enjoying normal milestones with their newborn, parents of preemies spend every second worried about their baby’s life.

L’il Aussie Prems Foundation, which is an organization that provides support for parents of premature and sick babies, started a #foot4prems project where parents of now grown preemies pose with pictures of themselves as infants.

The campaign hopes to give new parents of sick and premature babies hope by giving proof that their babies won’t be so tiny and fragile forever, and that they will have a life outside of the NICU.

Some of the babies included in the campaign, like Quinn who was born at 29 weeks, were born severely premature, yet you’d now never guess their life got off to such a complicated start.

Most of the time, animals are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves and are sometimes better off with as little human interaction as possible, but every once in a while even animals need our help.

This frightened cow had somehow managed to get its neck lodged in between a tree fork, and no matter how much it squirmed and writhed around, nothing worked. After some time, the cow gave up and just waited to die, but thankfully a pair of kindhearted cyclists spotted the trapped cow before it was too late.

At first, the two men tried to lift the cows head and neck, but it wouldn’t budge. However, they quickly noticed that the cows body was turned at a bad angle that made it impossible for the animal to stand up.

The cyclists then carefully dragged the cow’s body by its tail so it was properly aligned with its head, and when they went back to lift the cow’s head out from between the tree, it slid right out.

Twins have been known to form incredibly close relationships with each other, and some even claim they can read each other’s minds and finish each others sentences after spending an entire nine months crammed beside each other in their mother’s belly

Unsurprisingly, these twin little girls would rather sleep together in one cramped crib instead of having lots of space in their own bed. However, when mom and dad started finding their sweet little girls in the same crib in the morning after putting them in their own separate cribs the night before, they decided to set up some cameras to see what was really going on in the middle of the night.

Shortly after tucking in the girls, this dad shut the lights, closed the door, and waited until they drifted off to sleep. But once he checked the baby monitor, he saw one of his little girls throwing her pillow into her sister’s crib and climbing over the side of the crib.

Swans are known as one of the most graceful, and elegant creatures in the animal kingdom, but if you’ve ever tried to get close to one of these beautiful animals, you know how aggressive and territorial they can be.

Yet when Richard Wiese, a host for the television show ‘Born to Explore‘ who had been visiting the U.K.’s Abbotsbury Swannery, witnessed a swan get injured after flying into a chain-link fence, he knew he had to try and help the animal if it let him get close enough as swans have been known to peck and attack people who get too close.

Incredibly, the swan not only let Wiese help, but it cuddled up next to him and wrapped its long neck around his shoulders. “I grabbed it, had one arm over its wings and the other at the base of its neck. I pulled it to my chest and somehow it felt comfortable or safe, and within minutes it just surrendered itself. It literally took its neck and wrapped it around mine,” Wiese said.

“I could feel its chest beating against mine. To fully experience it, I felt like I wanted to close my eyes and isolate myself for the moment,” Wiese said. “It’s a really terrific feeling when you feel that bond and mutual trust with this non-verbally communicating animal, when the animal realizes you intend it no harm.”

WWII Veteran Proposes To His Soulmate 72 Years After Calling Off Their Engagement

Post-traumatic stress disorder manifests itself differently for everyone who has experienced some kind of trauma, and for one hero WWII veteran, not even the love of his life could make him forget the horrific things he witnessed and experienced at just 18 years old.

Roy Vickerman was sent to fight in the D-Day Landings in Normandy just a week after proposing to his soulmate, the then 18-year-old Nora Jackson. The two had met in 1940 when they were just 13 years old while attending school in Bucknall, United Kingdom. “When the teacher told the class there’s a new boy from London, all the faces turned towards me but the only one I saw was Nora,” Roy said. “I thought to myself, she’s the girl for me.”

Roy and Nora soon fell in love, and Roy proposed before being shipped off to fight in one of the deadliest and most destructive wars in history. “We had gotten engaged just before I went abroad, but when I came back, I think I developed post-traumatic stress disorder and I just wanted to be alone,” Roy said. “So I called off the engagement.”

They both moved on with their lives, and got married and had children with their new spouses. While they each thought of each other from time to time, they never thought they’d see each other again. “To be honest, I had always thought about Nora the whole time,” Roy said. “I was always wondering how Nora was.”

70 years later, Roy managed to track Nora down, but wasn’t sure if she was married or not. “I didn’t want to intrude if Nora had a husband, but one day, I just thought, ‘No, I’ll just go get some flowers and tell them I’d like to ask how Nora is and that I’d like to apologize to her for what happened,'” Vickerman said.

But when Roy knocked on the door, Nora recognized him immediately and wouldn’t let him leave. “She told me, ‘Oh Roy, I thought I’d never see you again,’ and then she gave me a kiss and said, ‘Hold me,” he said.

Roy visited her every day after that, and this past March, nearly 72 years after first proposing in 1944, he proposed to her a second time during his 90th birthday party with the same exact ring he bought her years ago. “She knew I was going to propose because it was the original ring but the guests didn’t know,” Roy explained. “I didn’t go down on one knee because I wouldn’t get up again, but we had the first dance.”

Moms and dads often threaten to take things like phones and computers away from their children if they start misusing them or getting into trouble to remind their kids that those things are a privilege, not a right.

Today’s technology and social media platforms have made staying connected with each other incredibly easy, however, it has also been shown to decrease happiness levels, hurts self-esteem, and decrease our ability to think independently. So when this southern mom’s children started getting into trouble because they were misusing their phones and were constantly using social media, she found an even more effective- and permanent- way to make her point.

After finding out her children were contacting people they didn’t know through social media, getting in trouble at school for using phones, and getting involved in drama that didn’t involve them, this tough mom solved the problem by shooting them with her rifle and then crushing the leftover pieces with a sledgehammer.

“I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children. Their disobedience and their disrespect,” mom declares as she prepares to shoot the phones. “I refuse to be cursed, I refuse to be disobeyed. I take back my role as your parent. My children’s lives are more important to me than any electronic on this Earth. I refuse to have them influenced in negative ways.”

Cops are known for doing heroic acts for complete strangers all the time, but for this Arkansas boy, nothing was more heroic than when this group of state troopers knocked on his door with a birthday cake in hand.

To celebrate 10-year-old Toxey’s birthday, mom Angela Andrews helped her son send out 21 invitations to his entire class for his weekend birthday party. Unfortunately, not a single classmate showed up to his big day. Angela had no idea what to tell her son when she knew no one was going to his party and felt ‘heartbroken and helpless. It’s the last thing you want to feel for your kid, that no one cared enough to come,’ Andrews said.

“On Saturday night, I knew no one was coming, and I posted on Facebook just kind of like an outcry to parents. Just please if your kids get invited to birthdays take them,” Andrews said. Incredibly, an Arkansas State Trouper got wind of her heartbreaking post and knew they had to help.

After Toxey got home from school, 5 state troopers pulled up at their home with a birthday cookie cake and presents to throw him the birthday party he deserved. “They made this sweet baby’s day, his year!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Andrews posted to Facebook after the special day. “I will never be able to repay the kindness you showed my family today!!”

After opening gifts, eating cake, playing with Rino the police K-9, playing basketball, and giving him a tour of their cop cars, Toxey was moved to tears.“I cried a little bit because they did that for me. If I am remembering right, this is the only birthday that I have had with people coming,” Toxey said.
