It’s easy for moms to feel bonded and connected to their babies during pregnancy, since they get to carry their little ones around for nine long months, but it can be harder for dads to feel needed and feel like part of the process.

This Panama City, Florida man was thrilled that he was going to get the chance to be a father after finding out that his fiancé was pregnant, but never imagined how much it would change her and their relationship. “I started to feel unappreciated, but I had to realize it has nothing to do with me,” he explained. “You can’t be selfish. You can’t try to make it all about you. She has everything going on from all the symptoms, all the hormones … but it doesn’t last forever.”

20-year-old Joshua Streeter wanted to show his fiancé, Ariana Ward, some support and decided to post his heartfelt message, which has been liked more than 80,000 times, to Facebook. “Every second is worth it, it has literally taken my fiancé and took over her body and with all the stress, aching and using the bathroom and sickness throughout the entire day, they hurt, they get so emotional and fatigue and they can’t explain why,” Streeter wrote about the challenging pregnancy.

“But that’s where you come in, make her feel that it’s okay to cry, get upset, mad and laugh out of nowhere and make her feel like she is a damn queen. Because she is creating a life and that is so interesting and amazing to me,” Streeter wrote. “Make her smile every damn day because her view of her own self is changing, her hormones are going 2M mph, she gaining weight and she’s thinking that it’s making her less beautiful but reality is that she’s even more beautiful than ever.”

Almost any mom has received unsolicited advice or opinions from friends, family, and even total strangers about anything from what their child should be eating to how they should be disciplined. After being constantly bombarded with opinions and questions about her choices as a mother, one Australian mom found the perfect solution to finally shut everyone up.

Like every other mother, Annie Nolan expected the occasional comment or questions about her son Malachy and baby twin daughters Delphine and Cheska. However, it started going too far when inconsiderate people asked her questions about whether or not she had considered aborting one of her kids, and others even told her that if she had aborted one of her twins, who were born 13 weeks premature and may consequently have learning disabilities when they’re older, everything would have been easier for her.

Nolan wanted to find a way to quiet the rude people while also answering the same typical questions she was tired of answering every single day, so she decided to  post a sign to her daughter’s stroller so people would have to ask her anymore.

“Yes, they are mine. Yes, they are twins. Yes, they are both girls. No, not identical. Yes, I know they look alike though. Yes, I’m sure they aren’t identical,” the first sign reads. “Conceived by f***ing. Born via C-section. You have twins in your family? ‘Great.’ They don’t run in my family… until now. Yes, my hands are full (sometimes with 2 glasses of wine just to get through) Yes triplets would be harder,” The second sign hilariously explains.

Taking a baby out to a restaurant is a daunting task for any parent, as they never know exactly when a tantrum will start or if their babies will annoy other diners, which is why this mom chose to sit at a small table in the back.

Jessica Rudeen had had a few tough months and was struggling to feel like a good mother to her adorable daughter Caroline, so to make up for it, she decided to take her baby out to dinner ar Panera for a mommy-daughter dinner date. Yet when she arrived, the place was crowded and cramped.

“I scrunched us into the smallest spot in the place and ended up a foot away from an elderly couple. The look of the gentleman sitting next to me reminded me of the old man in “UP” — like he might scold Caroline for crossing over to his space,” Rudeen said.

To be polite, she said hello to the couple, but then Caroline jumped into the conversation and started showing off all her talents. Surprisingly, instead of looking bothered by her nonstop talking, the old man and his wife look completely thrilled that she would talk with them.

Rudeen was thrilled Caroline was so well-behaved throughout their meal, but when she lifted her out of the high chair, she ran around the restaurant giving everyone high fives and saying hello.

“But what the elderly gentleman next to me said in that moment grabbed my heart and squeezed it so hard I thought I would cry,” Rudeen said. “He looks over to me with a gentle smile on his face and says, ‘You can tell when a baby is really loved. You have loved her very well. You’re doing a great job.”

“I can’t take credit for all of it because I’ve got an amazing husband who loves her with everything he has in him and a whole village of people who love her as well. It certainly isn’t all me. But in that moment, my soul needed a lift, and an unassuming old man filled my heart to the brim and overflowed my cup.”

Bullies often choose the weakest targets who they can easily dominate either physically or mentally to boost their own self-esteem and hide their own insecurities, however, when one school bully decided to pick on and beat up a special needs student, he thought it would be an easy fight.

And it was. The bully easily took down the frightened boy, who mainly tried to protect himself during the attack, and at first, onlookers just took out their phones and filmed what was happening instead of jumping in and helping. Some students from the Santa Clarita high school can even be heard snickering as the victim, whose name has been withheld, falls to the ground.

Finally, however, two students step in and put an end to the unfair fight. “He has special education, why would you take advantage of something like that? Just walk away,” said student Matt Padilla. But as word spread about the fight, students were outraged and rallied behind the special needs boy.

“The entire school was ready to back this kid up, make sure he doesn’t get hurt anymore. Everyone wanted to make sure he was okay. At first, he was scared to come to school,” Padilla said. Together, the student came dressed in all black to show support and decided to stand up for anyone being bullied.

“Definitely, it made a lot people start thinking about it and start thinking maybe we should be looking at how we’re handling things and talking to people,” student Grayson Thomas said.

Blind And Deaf 2-Year-Old Sees Her Mother For The First Time

For two years, doctors told mom, Daina Pereira, that her daughter would never see or hear her voice because of birth defects. Yet even after 7 failed surgeries, Pereira refused to accept her daughter’s current situation. While most would have given up, Pereira pushed forward even when doctors insisted there was nothing more they would do.

2-year-old Nicolly Pereira was born completely blind because of her pediatric glaucoma, but faced even bigger hurdles because she was also born deaf. Because of her disabilities, she had limited interaction with her mom, never learned to speak, and couldn’t walk.

To spread the word about her daughter’s condition and help her find a doctor that would give Nicolly another look, the Brazilian 26-year-old mom shared their story on Facebook and eventually it caught the attention of the Jackson Health Foundation’s International Kids Fund, which raised money so she could get seen by doctors on Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

“When she arrived, I felt I had made a mistake, because normally when they have the children arrive, they have some sort of vision that’s measurable,” Alana Grajewski, director of the institute’s pediatric glaucoma center, said. “We have a technician look at them initially and . . . they wrote down that Nicolly couldn’t see anything, not even a light.”

But three hours later, the surgery was complete and Nicolly was just days away from seeing her mom. “I loved the feeling of first seeing her mom’s face. While waiting for her eyes to heal so they could return home to Brazil, they stopped to see doctors at the University of Miami to check her ears, and doctors found that Nicolly wasn’t actually deaf. A buildup of water had made it impossible for her to hear, but a quick surgery drained it and finally let her hear.

Nicolly finally had her hearing back, and was able to see and hear her mother for the very first time. “That just moved me so much. . .  Then all of a sudden, she realized: ‘Oh my gosh, that’s my mom.’ And her mother could tell the recognition. It was just one of those moments — priceless,” Grajewski said.

One of the hardest parts of being a deployed soldier, apart from putting their life in danger every day, is having to be away from friends and family for months and sometimes years at a time without any idea of when or if they’ll ever see their loved ones again.

Mike Vickers, a Tech Sergeant with the US Air Force, has been stationed in Turkey for the past nine months, and figured he would have to miss yet another one of his son’s birthdays. However, when he found out that he was going to have some leave time, he got on the first flight home, so that he could celebrate his son’s ninth birthday for the first time in years.

During the fourth inning of a Diamondbacks baseball game, Vickers snuck up behind his son Micah who was attending the game as his birthday present. “His reaction was priceless,” Vickers described. “It was hilarious to me, you know he was just like, dad?”

“I didn’t know what to expect, I just wanted to give him a moment that he’ll hopefully remember forever,” Vickers said. For now, Vickers only has a week with his son before being sent back to Turkey for another 6 months, but neither he nor Micah will ever forget the special moment. “Family is really important and it’s great to get to see them when you get to see them. Most able-bodied people don’t realize how fortunate they are to be able to do anything they want on their own, but for people with physical handicaps or disabilities, everyday life is full of challenges and obstacles that sometimes require some help.

When a man walked into a Cinco De Mayo Mexican Grill in Douglasville, Georgia, his server, Alex Ruiz, noticed there were bandages around his wrists, and he didn’t have any hands. When it came time to order, he asked if there was anyone who could help him eat the meal, and Ruiz didn’t think twice to help the man.

Another customer, Reginald Widener, was watching their interaction, and was speechless when he watched Ruiz sit down in the booth across from the man, and start feeding him. “So I’m at cinco de mayo and Alex (server) had a man come in with no hands. So Alex is now helping the man eat his lunch. This seriously hit me right in the soul,” Widener wrote alongside the picture he took, which has now gone viral.

“I said I would help … and from the bottom of my heart, I really wanted to help him,” 22-year-old Ruiz said. “I didn’t mean for it to cause a lot of attention … I just wanted to help.”

Ruiz sat with the man for 30 minutes while he made conversation with him and hand fed him his taco, rice, and beans. After the meal, he took the man’s money to the cashier and brought him back the change. Later, Ruiz went back to work like nothing had happened, but his coworkers we moved by what they had witnessed. “Everyone at work was telling him what a great guy he was. That’s just something you don’t  see. A person feeding a stranger,” waitress Crystal Figueroa said.

While many animals look cute and fluffy on the outside, people seem to forget than ANY wild animal, no matter how big or small, are capable of inflicting incredible damage if they feel uncomfortable or threatened.

While on a trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Brett Johnson took his son to go see the famous ‘Old Faithful’ geyser, but when they arrived, he spotted a woman walk across a field where a huge bison was laying out in the warm sun. He immediately warned his son not to get any closer, as the 2,000-pound animal could become aggressive at any moment.

Incredibly, however, the bison remained completely calm as the reckless woman walked right up to it. At first, she stood in front of it for a few minutes just watching and touching its sharp horns.

When it made no moves to attack her, she even started petting its head as if it were a giant puppy. After a few minutes, she gave it a last pat, and then casually walked away as if she hadn’t just done something incredibly dangerous and risky.

Mom Gives Birth To Baby Boy, Uses His Stem Cells To Save Daughter With Cancer

A mother will do anything to keep her child save, healthy, and happy, so when one Australian mom found out her daughter had cancer, she was prepared to do anything to keep her alive an help her get healthy again.

10 years ago, Nicole and Jim Walker found out that their two-year-old daughter Abby was sick with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and needed chemotherapy if she was going to survive. Doctors explained that the treatment was her only hope, but, if they were open to it, there was a controversial back up plan they could try if she stopped responding to treatment.

While Abby underwent treatment, Nicole and Jim decided to have a fourth baby so that they could harvest the baby’s cord blood stem cells, and use them to treat Abby if the chemotherapy didn’t work. “There were a few people who were against it, the fact that this baby may be brought into the world and made to think that it was born just in order to help Abby,” Nicole said.

On May 8, 2008, the Walker family welcomed their son James into the world, and harvested his stem cells, should Abby need them. Luckily, the treatment worked, and Abby’s cancer went into remission. To this day, the Walkers have no idea if James’ stem cells are a match for Abby, but they are prepared to have another baby if Abby gets sick again and James’ stem cells don’t match.

“I think four is plenty. But if it did come down to it and Abby needed a transplant and the other three were not suitable then I would consider another baby,” Nicole said. “A lot of people believe that maybe you’re playing God, playing with the stem cells, but I believe that anyone would do anything to save their child if put in that position.”

Keeping up with a curious, growing baby is a struggle for even the fittest moms, which is why some people have their doubts when a paralyzed woman decides to have a baby. Despite not being able to move from the chest down, however, this woman is proving the world that being a good mom has nothing to do with her ability to walk.

In 2010, Rachelle Friedman was celebrating her bachelorette party with her closest friends just weeks before her wedding. Her best friend playfully pushed her into the pool, but instead of coming back up to the surface and laughing about it, Rachelle hit the bottom of the pool head first and broke her neck.

Instead of wallowing in self-pity, Rachelle refused to let her injury stop her from living her life. She joined a wheelchair rugby league, took up surfing, and still married her soulmate who stuck by her through the challenging time.

Rachelle and her husband Chris refuse to let the injury hold them back, and with the help of a surrogate, the two became parents to their precious daughter Kaylee last year.

As a 1-year-old, Kaylee has been getting more and more mobile each day, and while she can’t learn from watching mom walk, she has learned to hold on to the back of Rachelle’s wheelchair for support as she practices standing and walking.

“She got a lot of practice holding on to the back of my chair. She would pull up and hold on to the wheel, and then walk to the back and hold on to the bar in the back. My wheelchair was good practice for her. She would basically push my wheelchair. It was so cool she learned how to do that,” Rachelle said.

Most toddlers hate having to share their goods with their brothers or sisters, but twin siblings are excellent at it since they spend their entire lives sharing thing like their mom, their looks, and even their clothing.

To see what would happen when her adorable twins were forced to share their dinner, this mom decided to only put one bowl down on the table when they sat down for dinner. At first, mom wasn’t sure if they would argue and bicker about who got more food just like any other toddler would, or if they would each eat in peace, but she definitely didn’t expect what they did next.

When mom put down one bowl on the table for dinner, these precious toddlers had no problem sharing their food, but rather than just share the contents of the bowl, these two went above and beyond and actually took turns spoon-feeding each other.

Mom Is Furious When She Hears Parents Making Fun Of Her Son

Parents are supposed to lead and teach their children by being an example of how to act, and how to treat others, which is why one New Zealand mom was shocked when she heard a bunch of parents from her son’s own team teasing and making fun of her little boy during a weekend game.

In an attempt to make some new friends, get some exercise, and have some fun, 10-year-old Eljae Pukeiti-Mara joined his local rugby team, and despite being so new to the game, he absolutely loved it. Four weeks after joining the team, Eljae got to take part in one of his first games and asked mom, Rochelle Mara, to come along and cheer him on from the sideline.

Rochelle was thrilled to go see her son play, but as she stood on the sideline with the other parents, she started to hear them talk about and laugh at the ‘big boy’ on the field. When she heard another parent ask why he was being allowed to ‘slow the team down’, she asked the woman who they were talking about, and she pointed directly at Eljae.

After the game, she took to Facebook to explain what happened and call out the cruel parents for bullying her son. “Number 8, Eljae. My boy. The one you so freely stood on the sideline this morning laughing at. The one you were talking about being a ‘Big boy’ and not ‘an asset to the team.’ The one you laughed at for not being able to run as fast as your kid,” Mara wrote. “Obviously not realizing I, his mother, was standing right next to you listening to everything you were saying – Until I told you. Ha! You couldn’t move to the other side of the field fast enough. Can I just remind you, Eljae is out there training with his TEAM twice a week, he turns up every weekend to play alongside his TEAM, the same team your kid plays for!”

“Eljae is out there on that field supporting your son in the game just as I’m out on that sideline supporting them – your son included! I’m all for having your own opinions and freedom of speech but when you use this right to talk sh*t about my son please don’t expect me to stand there and take it. Be glad he didn’t hear it himself. For a kid whose never played rugby prior to 4 weeks ago, he’s doing a damn good job and I tell him this every week.”

“He does not need to hear your negativity. He, nor any of the other boys/girls, need to hear you talking down about them, so please – for the love of Beyonce – stand there on that sideline along with the rest of us parents and support OUR boys and girls! ALL OF THEM. Win or lose. It’s a game. They’re all out there playing the best they can. Number 8 included,” Mara wrote.

While dad, John Tierney from Blantyre, Scotland, was driving his little girl around one afternoon, she made a bold announcement that she wanted a boyfriend. As expected, Tierney was not too happy at the thought of his daughter, Grace, having a boyfriend and decided to make it clear that she would never ever be allowed to have a boyfriend.

At first, Grace tries to reason with her protective dad, and explains that “If I want a boyfriend, I’m getting a boyfriend.” She adorably tries to stand her ground, but she had no comeback when Tierney jokingly explained that “daddy will break his legs.”

Mom Spreads Warning When Son Almost Dies After Falling Off His Bike Without A Helmet

Parents try their hardest to make sure no harm comes to their precious children, but scratches and bruises are an unavoidable part of life, especially for a Florida mom who has her hands full with two young boys who like to play outside.

10-year-old Jaden Rivera is used to the occasional scrape and bruise from playing with friends, which is why he wasn’t phased when he fell off his bike and got a little road rash on his knees and elbow. Jaden, who wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the fall, got right back up and kept playing with his brother, and later convinced his worried parents that he was fine.

Jaden went to sleep that night feeling fine, aside from the road rash, and felt normal the following day as well. However, the following morning, Jaden was not himself when he woke up. “He woke up and was completely lethargic — didn’t want to move,” his mother, Tiffany Rivera, said. “That’s unusual for my son; the moment he wakes up he’s running around the house.”

Tiffany brought Jaden straight to the hospital after he started vomiting, and he was taken immediately for a CAT scan. Doctors pulled Tiffany aside and explained that her son had a right temporal fracture of the skull, and blood had formed between the inner surface of his skull and the outer protective lining. Jaden had a 50/50 chance of surviving, and only an hour to get into surgery before he would most likely die.

Jaden miraculously made it out of surgery, and doctors were stunned. “Normal cases like his, kids would have already been dead,” Rivera said. “He went to sleep… twice.”

Now, Tiffany and Jaden are trying to spread his story to warn other parents and kids how important it is to wear a helmet at all times while riding bikes. “He wants to show people [his scar],” Tiffany said. “He’s really up for wanting to help other kids.”

Can you believe this all happened because of a small bike fall? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with friends on Facebook.

Pilot Dad Surprises Soldier Son On His Flight Back Home

For parents, saying goodbye to their soldier sons and daughters when they get deployed is practically impossible, as there’s no guarantee when or if they’ll ever come back from serving their country. So when a Washington D.C. based pilot found out that a flight that was returning from Kuwait was going to be carrying soldiers, he jumped at the chance to pilot it.

Capt. Mario Lopes was relieved to finally find out that his son, First Lt. Mario Lopes, was scheduled to return from his deployment in Kuwait on April 14. Then the United Airlines pilot found out that there was a flight from Kuwait to Norfolk, Virginia on that day, and knew it couldn’t be a coincidence.

“I told my wife that this couldn’t be a coincidence,” Capt. Lopes said. “No one could confirm or deny if he would actually be a passenger on my aircraft, but I knew I had to take the chance and find out.”

Finally, when the soldiers began boarding the plane, he spotted his son, and devised a plan with the plane’s crew to surprise him. “I gave my lead flight attendant Audrey a bag of Mario’s favorite cookies to distract him while I tried to sneak on board,” Capt. Lopes said.

“I made my way behind him and asked, ‘First Lieutenant Lopes, what are you doing on my aircraft?'” Capt. Lopes said. “When he turned around we embraced for as long as I could hold him. I cannot express the emotions I felt holding my son after not seeing him for so long.”

Getting one baby, never mind two babies, to fall asleep is a huge accomplishment for any parent, which is why this mom was so relieved when she finally put her energetic twins to bed in their cribs.

Yet moments later, mom Judy Travis, a video blogger on Youtube who goes by the username itsMommysLife, heard some soft chatter coming from the baby monitor. Sure enough, it was her twins Miya and Keira, who she could see standing up in their cribs as they talked and played.

Judy watched for a few moments as her little girls thought they were fooling mom into thinking they were fast asleep when they were actually just playing. Then, she decided to see what would happen if she used the microphone feature on her baby monitor, which would play from the monitor that was placed in their room.

Mom playfully said ‘hi babies’ over the intercom to see what would happen, and she couldn’t stop laughing when her sneaky little girls instantly dropped to their bellies in their cribs so they could pretend to be asleep.

New parents will do anything to ensure they get to the hospital to support their partners and witness their newborn child’s first moments of life, which is why so many people were shocked when an Australian professional rugby player left his heavily pregnant wife after her water had broken to play in a game with his team.

James Roberts, a star player for the Brisbane Broncos, left his wife Anna after her water broke to play in his team’s game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs. His team and coaches called him ‘selfless’ for potentially sacrificing the life-changing moment to play in the game, which is his full-time job. Yet after the news got out about what had happened, everyone began trashing the rugby player and new father for being so ‘selfish’.

After everyone from news reporters to total strangers started criticising this new mom’s husband, she couldn’t take it any longer and set out to finally set the record straight.

“I would like you to all know that it upsets me to see people talking about my husband in such a negative way. I told James to play that evening because I knew that our baby boy wouldn’t arrive until after the game as I was not in ‘early labour’ at that point in time,” Anna said. “James is such a loving, caring and nurturing father who was by my side the whole way through the birth of our very first son and never left my side!”

“While James was at the game, doing what he loves and does best, I was surrounded by my extended family from Sydney and mother in law while James was at the stadium,” Anna continued. “It was not until early hours of Sunday morning that I gave birth and James played football on the Friday night, which is nearly 48hours after playing.”

“James delivered our son with the assistance of the awesome team of midwives at the Gold Coast hospital! James is an extremely supportive, loyal, loving and kind hearted man who would never be so selfish or selfless to leave me by myself to give birth!”

Do you think this new dad was right to go play in the game, or should he have stayed with his wife?

In the United States, as well as many countries around the world, dogs are revered four-legged companions, but unfortunately, there are just as many countries who view dogs as pests to be ignored, or even worse, as something to put on your plate.

In South Korea alone, it’s estimated that about 1.5 million to 2.5 million dogs are eaten every year, which was the same fate 200 dogs at a dog meat farm in Wonju faced. Thankfully, however, members of the Humane Society International found the farm just in time, and stepped in to save them from the appalling conditions and eventually ending up on someone’s plate

In just a few short weeks, the dogs were meant to be killed and their meat was supposed to be eaten during the Bok Nal festival, which is the infamous South Korean dog-eating festival.

In the past, people in North Korea started eating dogs out of necessity, but now that’s not the case and luckily for other dogs, it’s a dying tradition.

“It’s a dying business. In the past, people ate dogs because there was nothing else to eat but nowadays, young people don’t have to eat it. It’s becoming weird for people,” a former dog farmer, Gong In-Young, said.

7-year-old Audrey Nethery was born with a hole in her heart, a cleft palate, and a rare blood disorder called Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA), which makes it difficult for the body to circulate oxygen and produce red blood cells. From the moment she was born, her life has been an uphill battle, but she refuses to let it stop her from doing what she loves.

Despite her health problems, which also include stunted growth from having to take steroids, Audrey is still a 7-year-old girl who loves to sing and dance, and has actually gone viral in the past for her impressive Zumba moves, which parents Julie and Scott regularly posts to Facebook to raise awareness of DBA.

TV show host and cook Rachael Ray saw one of Audrey’s viral videos of her dancing, and knew she had to help make one of her dreams come true. Ray invited the 7-year-old Kentucky girl and her parents to New York where Audrey would get to meet and dance with the Brooklyn Nets dance team.

“Every time I see her dance, even when it’s just in her class, it makes me cry, but seeing her up on that stage was incredible. When she’s dancing, she’s happy and brings so much joy to everyone watching,” Julie said. After the knockout performance, the family took to their Facebook page to share: “What you don’t see is Rachael’s generous donation to our DBA fundraiser – $10,000!!!”
