No parent wants to raise a spoiled brat who expects everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, which is why so many friends and even strangers approached this mom and accused her of spoiling her child after they saw her doting on her baby at all times.

Like any mother, Kelly Dirkes just wants to make sure that her children know how loved they are, but everyone thought her constant spoiling would keep them from ever becoming independent. Usually, Dirkes ignored those comments, however, when a complete stranger criticized her for spoiling her baby while she was shopping in Target, she decided to let the world know why she worked so hard to ‘spoil’ her kids.

“Dear Woman in Target- I’ve heard it before, you know. That I ‘spoil that baby’. You were convinced that she’d never learn to be ‘independent’. I smiled at you, kissed her head, and continued my shopping. If you only knew what I know. If you only knew how she spent the first ten months of her life utterly alone inside a sterile metal crib, with nothing to comfort her other than sucking her fingers,” Dirkes wrote in a post to Facebook that has now gone viral.

“If you only knew what her face looked like the moment her orphanage caregiver handed her to me to cradle for the very first time–fleeting moments of serenity commingled with sheer terror. No one had ever held her that way before, and she had no idea what she was supposed to do. If you only knew that she would lay in her crib after waking and never cry–because up until now, no one would respond.

“If you only knew that anxiety was a standard part of her day, along with banging her head on her crib rails and rocking herself for sensory input and comfort,” She continued. “If you only knew that that baby in the carrier is heartbreakingly ‘independent’ –and how we will spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years trying to override the part of her brain that screams ‘trauma’ and ‘not safe’.”

“If you only knew that that baby now whimpers when she’s put down instead of when she is picked up. If you only knew that that baby “sings” at the top of her lungs in the mornings and after her nap, because she knows that her chatter will bring someone to lift her out of her crib and change her diaper. If you only knew that that baby rocks to sleep in her Mama’s or her Papa’s arms instead of rocking herself.”

“If you only knew that that baby made everyone cry the day she reached out for comfort, totally unprompted… ‘Spoiling that baby’ is the most important job I will ever have, and it is a privilege. I will carry her for a little while longer–or as long as she’ll let me–because she is learning that she is safe. That she belongs. That she is loved.”

For many expecting moms, the signs of pregnancy, like missed periods and morning sickness to weight gain and a growing belly, are pretty obvious, which is why it’s so hard to believe that someone could be more than half-way through their pregnancy and have no idea that they’re pregnant at all.

As impossible as it seems, one UK mom showed no signs of pregnancy despite trying to conceive for nearly a year. 37-year-old Sarah Senior had dreamed of having another baby with her 39-year-old partner Jason Cooper, but she was crushed every time she got her period and each pregnancy test came back negative.

The two had just about given up their hope of being parents again, and accepted the fact that it wasn’t going to happen. One day, however, Sarah landed in the hospital after complaining of irritable bowel syndrome, but after getting a scan, the doctors found out she was actually 5 months pregnant. “I said I couldn’t be. I’d done two pregnancy tests and both were negative,” Sarah said.

At 5 months along, Sarah was still her typical size 10, and didn’t have the normal baby bump like she had with her previous two pregnancies, yet when she went in a week later for some scans, they found three heartbeats. “The consultant said I was definitely pregnant and it looked like twins. My jaw hit the floor.”

On December 15, Sarah gave birth to her three healthy yet small triplets through a C-section, and a year later, the family has their hands full.“They’re all walking and talking now. It’s a madhouse. Life consists of feed, change nappies, feed, repeat.” But the family is loving every minute of it. “I am so grateful that my tummy ache wasn’t IBS. It was my three beautiful daughters,” Sarah said.

God Bless.” Smith was so stunned, that he stopped and said hello. Despite having nothing, Amy Joe still never asked Smith for anything whenever they saw each other on the street, so finally, Smith convinced her to let him take her out to lunch.

“Every Tuesday Amy Joe and I now have Lunch together. For 30 min to an hour I get to hear how positive she is even though she really has nothing. Last week Amy Joe kind of dropped a bomb on me…she cannot read. Amy Joe does not smoke, drink, have a drug addiction, or anything to that nature. She simply just has never had anyone teach her how to read,” Smith wrote in a post to Facebook, which has gone viral.

“She told me how hard it was for her to find work not being able to read. She began to tell me any money that she can collect she uses to check out library books that help with learning to read instead of buying FOOD. This crushed me!!! She would rather learn to read to maybe find a job than eat!!!”

“I have been blessed with two amazing parents and a family that has always had resources to provide me with anything I wanted to do. Amy Joe has not. So now not only do Amy Joe and I sit and have lunch, I’m teaching her to read. I rent one library book a week and we read it together Tuesday and she practices on her own throughout the rest of the week.”

“This post is in no way to make anyone feel sorry for Amy Joe or brag about me doing something for someone less fortunate,” Smith explained. “I wanted to share this because maybe this can lead to someone helping another person. There are a lot of people out there like Amy Joe, not all are hungry, homeless, or hurt. Some could be your family or friends. Helping someone could be as easy as saying hello and smiling. I have been fortunate enough in my finances that I can take care of Amy Joe, so that’s what I’m going to do.”

Once the women on the bus understood what just happened, they all joined in by throwing punches and kicking him. The creep tried to jump off the bus when the bus pulled over at a stop and the doors swung open, but the women grabbed him back in so he couldn’t escape.

Soon enough, the police caught up to the bus, and the women finally released him to their custody so he would have to pay for his crime.

Rachelle Briannan planned a small but fun-filled birthday party for her son Taenon’s  fourth birthday, and invited 12 kids to come celebrate with him, sing him ‘happy birthday’, and eat the huge superhero cake that she made for the special day. Yet just an hour before the party was supposed to start, every single parent either canceled or wouldn’t respond when Rachelle tried to confirm if they were still coming.

“My son just turned 4 and this is the first time he’s really understood the whole party with friends thing. My heart is literally broken for him!! I’m so hurt and angry,” Rachelle wrote in a post on the Facebook mother’s group Midnight Mums.

Soon after reading Rachelle’s crushing message, moms and members of the Facebook group came together to plan another party for Taenon. A total of 30 kids were able to make it to the new party at a McDonald’s, and even more dropped by with presents or sent online messages wishing Teanon a happy birthday.

“Rachelle was and still is speechless,” Constance Hall said.

Strangers Celebrate Boy’s 4th Birthday After Mom Posts Devastating Message Online is an article from: LifeDaily

Paris has spent his entire life wandering the streets of Karditsa, Greece as a stray dog, but as a puppy, he was also the victim of a cruel abuse that would only get worse as he got older. When Paris was just a tiny puppy, someone had wrapped wire snugly around his neck, and as he got older and grew, the wire became more and more restrictive.

Eventually, the wire dug into his skin so much, that there was a solid ring of an open wound around Paris’ neck, and by the time rescuers from the Greek Animal Rescue (GAR) organization found him, the wire had dug a hole in his trachea, which made it impossible for him to eat.

Paris was understandably terrified of humans, but they managed to capture him and rush him to the vet. The wire was immediately taken off, but they had to heal the infection before finally being able to operate and closing the hole in his neck.

“When he finally received his surgery, he felt less pain and started to eat…and eat. The dog that was little more than “skin and bones” gained 20 kilos in a matter of months,” the rescue team wrote.

Rescuers Save Abused Dog With Metal Wire Wrapped Around His Neck is an article from: LifeDaily

It can be extremely difficult for parents to leave their babies behind in a daycare full of strangers, which is why one mom was so thankful when she finally found a daycare that she could trust to keep her 2-year-old daughter happy and safe while she was at work.

Brittney Nichols knew it might be challenging to find the right daycare for her 2-year-old daughter, who suffers from some complications after being born prematurely, but could tell her little girl was in good hands after seeing how excited daycare teacher Christy Owens was when she started the day and greeted all the children in the mornings.

“Every single morning when I drop my daughter off Christy is full of joy,” Nichols explained. “Christy is always so amazingly happy and kind. She treats the children as if they are her own. They all love her as do we the parents.

One Sunday morning, however, Nichols spotted a woman walking on the side of the road carrying a bible on the way to church, and as she passed by she realized it was her daughter’s daycare teacher.

Nichols pulled over to ask why Christy was walking such a long way instead of driving, and learned that not only did Christy not have a car, but she was never able to get her license, which meant she had to walk every single day to the daycare no matter what the weather was like.”I felt like God spoke within me to inquire about her transportation. Long story short Christy did not own a vehicle and had never had the opportunity to own one or get a driver’s license….until today.”

Nichols didn’t have the money to buy Christy a car on her own, but knew she had to help. After approaching other parents and coworkers, they were able to raise enough money to buy Christy a car and lessons at a driving school.

Despite being 9 months pregnant and about to go into labor at any moment, Chrisi Hammer kept up her exhausting six-day a week training schedule until the very end. While many pregnant women avoid heavy lifting, Hammer welcomed the barbells, deadlifts, and squats in her CrossFit class, and even managed to break her own personal records by squatting 285 pounds.

“Everyone just keeps teasing me that I have this pregnancy strength, cause I`m stronger now than I was before I got pregnant,” Hammer said.

Hammer, who was pregnant with her fourth child, was sick of letting her body and health go when she got pregnant and had worked hard to lose the baby weight she gained during her previous pregnancies. Thanks to her extreme CrossFit training, Hammer only gained 30 pounds compared to the 80 pounds she gained during her first pregnancy.

Despite being cleared by her doctor to exercise while pregnant, many were shocked to see the picture Hammer posted of herself and were convinced such strenuous activity was dangerous for her and baby Lucy, who was born the very next day.

After the woman made a comment about this dad abusing the system, he tried to explain that he not only works hard to provide for his family, but he actually works 50-60 hours a week. “You’re not providing for it, I am,” the woman replies. “The government is. They take it out of my check. Bullsh*t they don’t.”

Unfortunately, the confrontation continues in front of the man’s innocent child, and when he catches himself getting angry over the pointless argument, he tries to put an end to it. Unfortunately, the woman refuses to mind her own business. “I don’t have to; it’s a free country, remember?” she said. “If I’m gonna pay for all your sh*t the least I can do is talk.”

Delbert Latham had been spending the night with his 6-year-old son, Kaysen, at Wonderland, a Texas amusement park, and before the night was over, he had convinced Kaysen to go on the mousetrap roller coaster with him one last time, and decided to film his son’s experience so they could show mom later on.

When the ride started, Kaysen looked excited and was relaxed knowing dad was right by his side, but as soon as the coaster went down its first big drop, Kayden’s seatbelt came undone and he slipped right out of the seat.

Luckily Latham was able to pull him back, and held onto him tightly until the end of the ride. “As we were going down, it threw him into the bottom of the cart and that’s when you see me reach over to grab him,” Latham said.

However, when they notified the ride’s operator, the man casually said that the seatbelt in that seat had been failing sometimes. “Really it’s already happened and you continue to let people ride??!!” Latham wrote. “And after this they continued to let people ride they just didn’t let anyone in the back seat!”

Most people don’t consider farm animals like cows to be the most intelligent and nurturing creatures, but this mother cow is proving that a mother knows best when it comes to her baby, no matter what the species.

Ruby the cow knows what it’s like to almost lose her baby, Lucas, as she gave birth to him in a kill pen, which are farms that kill the animals that don’t get bought at auction. Luckily, Ruby and Lucas were purchased as a pair at the last minute by a woman who brought the two to the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Maryland.

So when the sanctuary workers heard the protective mother crying and mooing nonstop, they knew something must be wrong. They could tell something was off with Lucas, and took him to the New Bolton Center Hospital to run some tests.

At first, doctors feared the worst for the baby, but a test for the deadly Bovine Viral Diarrhea disease came back negative. While they waited for some other results, Lucas got to nurse with mom and got hooked up with IV fluids and antibiotics.

Finally, doctors figured out that Lucas was suffering from a bad case of pneumonia, but because Ruby caught his temperature so early, he started gaining his strength back quickly. “Many people think that cows are not intelligent animals,” the sanctuary wrote, “but they are really very smart.”

Mother Cow Calls Out For Help When She Senses Her Baby Is Sick is an article from: LifeDaily

Being a mom is about making sacrifices for your kids and putting them first even when it means putting yourself in harm’s way, which is what one Nebraska woman was prepared to do so she could start a family.

Laura Kingston was born with congenital heart disease, and although she was able to live a relatively normal life, it made having a baby of her own complicated. Laura was determined to start her family, and in 2006,  she gave birth to her first son, however, it put a strain on her heart and caused her to have heart failure.

“I can remember being home and the middle of the night. My son is crying, and I can’t get to him to his room to get to the crib.” Luckily, doctors were able to replace her heart valve in time, and Laura’s life went back to normal.

“As life has it, I ended up becoming pregnant again. That is when we noticed the transition of this valve.” Laura’s heart was struggling to support both her and the unborn baby, and was even starting to affect the baby’s growth.

At 28 weeks, doctors put her on bed rest as they feared for the baby’s health, and knew Laura’s heart could stop at any second.

While Laura seemed like a ticking time bomb to her doctors, she never gave up hope and never questioned if she was making the right choice. “This is a gift. This is a miracle. This is meant to be and the thought of termination wasn’t an option,” she said.

On March 7, Laura underwent a c-section in a packed delivery room full of doctors who were prepared to start heart surgery if her heart gave out, but luckily her heart pulled through and baby Riley was born safely. “I am just so thankful, I am so thankful that she is healthy and that she is here.”

18 years ago, Joy Bridges made one of the first of many sacrifices in her life as a mother when the then 18-year-old had to miss her senior prom because she was seven months pregnant.

Bridges was sad to not be able to go to her senior prom, but being a mother came first that night, and 18 years later, her son Jah’Vontae Smith and her other children still come first no matter what the occasion. Smith knew it wasn’t always easy for his mother, so he decided to ask his mom to prom so she could finally have the special night she deserved.

“I don’t have my dad in my life,” Smith said. “But she’s always been there and I appreciate that. I didn’t always see it when I was younger, but I see it now and I just wanted to do something special for her because she’s always doing special things for me.”

At first, Bridges didn’t take her son seriously, but as the prom approached, he gave her money to buy a prom dress and went with her to pick it out. “I felt honored,” Bridges said. “It was an amazing feeling, it still is. He was really proud, and it’s still making me feel so good that he wanted to do that and share that with me.”

Bridges was petrified of looking ridiculous all dressed up with a bunch of teenagers, but when they arrived at the pre-prom event to take pictures, she fit right in. “That’s my mom,” Smith said. “She’s always going to be by my side. My high school prom, I’m always going to look back at that and remember that I went with my mom. I would have turned anybody down for her.”

At the end of the pre-prom event, Bridges decided to call it a night and let her son go enjoy his night with friends, as her son had already done more than enough for her.

“All of my life I’ve been told that a woman can’t raise a man,” Bridges said. “In my eyes, my son has turned into a beautiful, perfect young man and the way he treats me, whoever is his wife someday is going to go get a great husband. For anyone who said a woman can’t raise a man, I think I just proved them all wrong.”

Lori Ware always worried about her son, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, when she wasn’t around to keep him safe and help him with anything he might need, but all those worries vanished when she brought her son home a service dog.

Before the dependable service dog named Presley came into Seph Ware’s life, his muscular dystrophy, which causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting, made normal tasks and activities more difficult. But all that changed four years ago when Presley became Seph’s constant companion and began helping him keep up with other kids his age.

Presley even accompanies Seph to class at the Good Hope Middle School, and has become such a beloved member of the class that school officials decided to include Presley in the school’s yearbook.

“We have had issues with his elementary school accepting Presley, so to come to Good Hope and her to be welcomed has been very refreshing,” Ware said. “The kids adore her and she loves the attention.”

The hug lasts just a few moments, which was enough to give the other players a head start, but in no time, the boy is back chasing after the ball and is about to score a goal.

Tech Sgt. David Opperman had been deployed for six months, so when he told his 13-year-old daughter Amber that he might have time to squeeze in a quick Skype call during her day at school at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, she happily sat out of recess so that she could have a few precious minutes with him.

Amber decided to give her dad a small surprise by having mom, Yvet Opperman, stop by during their Skype call, but what she didn’t know was that her parents had been working together to give her an even bigger surprise. “Amber thought she was going to be surprising dad by bringing me into the video,” Yvet said. “In actuality, he was in the next room over — waiting to come in. We turned the tables.”

After a few moments on Skype together, David told his little girl that he had to put her on hold, and when the screen went dark, she patiently waited. But then she spotted something out of the corner of her eye, and that’s when she realized her dad had been there all along.

“She’s basically saying [in the video], ‘I can’t believe you’re here. I missed you so much,'” mom Yvet said. “Me, I was teary eyed. I almost couldn’t control myself. It was an emotional day, overall.”

No matter how many babies doctors bring into the world, no delivery is ever exactly alike, which is why doctors are trained to handle any possible situation. However, when this doctor started delivering an infant through a typical c-section, he wasn’t prepared for what they baby did next.

Arizona-based Dr. Sawyer started Alicia Atkins’ c-section just like every other c-section, by breaking her water and then starting to pull the infant out safely, however just before Dr. Sawyer got a chance to reach in and grab the baby girl, which Alicia and Randy decided to name Neveah, her hand popped out of mom’s womb and into the air.

She instantly grabbed ahold of one of Dr. Sawyer’s finger, and before the incredible moment passed, he managed to call out for dad to take a look.

No one could believe the magical moment they got to witness, and luckily, Randy took a picture of the special scene for mom to look at after. “Truly amazing. I am in awe of this photo,” Alicia wrote in a post to Facebook, which quickly went viral. “Something to remember forever.”

It’s been two long years since this Sydney-based mom, Sandy, has seen her daughter Jess since she moved across the world to live in London, and while she was thrilled her daughter was happy, she wished she didn’t have to be so far away.

In order to give her mom the best Mother’s Day surprise ever, Jess reached out to a local radio show, Nova 96.9, in Sydney to see if they could help devise a plan. “We told Sandy that her daughter had entered a competition to win a day spa for Mother’s Day from Nova,” one of the show’s hosts said.

And when Sandy arrived for her Mother’s Day spa gift, she was given an iPad with a video message left specially for her from Jess, who she believed was nearly 10,000 miles away in London.

“There’s not really enough ways that I’m ever going to be able to say ‘thank you’ or show you thanks for the things that you do for me. So happy Mother’s Day. I love you very much and I miss you,” Jess said.

Sandy was ushered into a room for her massage and had a towel placed over her eyes. But instead of a masseuse, Jess walked into the room and started making small talk. Yet, Sandy only realized who she’d been talking to when Jess said ‘you’re welcome’ after she explains how she wished she could thank her daughter.

Mom Hasn’t Seen Her Daughter In 2 Years, But Then She Gets The Best Mother’s Day Surprise is an article from: LifeDaily

Nicole Mayhew had no reason to think that anything was wrong with her husband, who she had said goodbye to just a few hours before as she drove off to work one Monday morning. Yet she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was very wrong.

Nicole couldn’t explain it, and had no idea why, but she knew she had to get home right away. “I just said I need to go check on him working on the car I just believe a spirit told me,” Nicole said. Incredibly, when she got home and pulled into the driveway, she could sense something wasn’t right.

“So I got out and I heard my husband say, ‘help me love,’ and he was in the garage,” Nicole said. “I thought, ‘it’s on him, it’s got to be on him, the car,’ that’s what’s in my head, so I knew immediately.”

While her husband Scott Mayhew was working on his car in their garage, the car slipped off the jack and pinned him to the ground. He had no way of getting free, and was trapped beneath the car for an hour and a half. “He was still talking a little, he couldn’t breathe that well at all, it just freaked me out,” Nicole said. “He said he kept praying for me to come home.”

Nicole called 911 immediately, and Scott was airlifted to the hospital. However, because Nicole had gotten home in time, he only had six broken ribs and was able to make a full recovery.
