Any bride knows how difficult and exhausting it is to plan the wedding of your dreams, and after months spent fine-tuning the guest list, going to dress fittings, and going to cake tastings, one Canadian bride was glad to have that all behind her with her wedding just days away.

However, Elise Boissonneault and nearly 100,000 other people had to evacuate their homes in For McMurray, Alberta when devastating wildfires tore through the province. Boissonneault was lucky to get out with her life but during the evacuation, she was forced to leave behind almost all of her belongings, which included the wedding dress she planned to wear in just a few days.

Her wedding photographer, Alex Neary, knew how devastated Boissonneault was and decided to post a picture of the bride in her original dress to see if anyone had a similar dress that they’d be willing to lend.

“I posted on Facebook and within an hour hundreds upon hundreds of strangers had reached out, offering to give her their dress to wear. Designers, bridal stores and fellow photographers all did what they could to help her find a new gown.”

“Elise arrived in Toronto at 3pm, I picked her up at 5:30pm and we went to Leaann Belter Bridal where the ever so generous and gracious, Ginny, lent Elise not one but two dresses. One for the ceremony and one to change into for the reception,” Neary wrote. “Elise was so overcome with emotions by everything that has happened and I can safely say that the kindness shown by strangers has touched her more than you will ever know.”

While Boissonneault was ready to go to her wedding in jeans and a t-shirt, she was so grateful that a stranger showed her so much kindness. “I didn’t think there was that kind of kindness in the world,” she said. “It’s just awesome.”

There are certain moments in a person’s life that they’ll never forget, and for this expecting couple, finding out the gender of their baby is definitely one of those moments.

Rather than just have their doctor tell them the exciting news, Sergeant First Class Keith Batchelder and his fiancee Jamie Indiveri decided on a more unconventional option, which was inspired by Keith’s career as a Green Beret with the U.S. Army Special Forces.

The couple found a safe and secluded spot in the woods to place a small box, which held a colored chalk explosive, and when hit, an explosion would be triggered that would produce either pink or blue dust to represent a girl or a boy.

Keith easily hit the mark  on his first try and caused an explosion of blue chalk clouds. “His friends and teammates in Special Forces, who are all highly trained in advanced marksmanship, would never had let him live it down if he missed!” Jamie said.

Yet, when the couple posted their exciting news online, people couldn’t believe the way they chose to announce such special news. “Gee. I think I’ll aim a rifle at the representation of my child-to-be and pull the trigger. Sounds like a fantastic idea, honey,” One commenter wrote.

Yet, mom never saw her son run out of the house, and dart in front of her moving car. Since he was too short for her to see from the steering wheel, she kept driving into her spot and unknowingly mowed her son over.

Security footage captured the shocking scene, yet the little boy miraculously rolled over, and stood up after being run over by his mother’s SUV as if nothing had happened.

Little Kid Miraculously Survives Being Accidentally Run Over By His Mom is an article from: LifeDaily

Puppies love exploring the unknown and are fearless when it comes to trying new things because they know they have their mom or dad to protect them and get them out of whatever trouble they land in.

However, when a puppy got its head stuck in a rusty old pipe, there was nothing mom could do to get him out. When none of her attempts to free him worked, she had no choice but to leave him behind. Despite being abandoned, this tiny pup continued to call out for help.

Finally, someone heard the meek, desperate cries coming from a broken, rusty pipe laying on the ground, and when they looked over they spotted the puppy’s messy white face and floppy ears peeking out the end of the pipe.

The rescuers started lathering the pup’s neck with soap and water in hopes that he would slip right out. After 40 minutes of massaging with lots of soap, they managed to push his head back through the pipe as gently as possible until he was free again.

For many mom’s, the best part of raising kids is getting to watch them grow up into the people they raised them to be, and while this mom never left her children, a tragic disorder took away her ability to watch them get older.

46 years ago, Sydney-based grandmother Fran Laver contracted Stevens-Johnson syndrome, an immune hypersensitivity disorder, in her 20’s as an early mother and left her totally blind within two years. “The worst thing about having limited sight is the isolation. You tend to not socialize as much,” Fran said.

Not only did she miss out on aspects of her children’s childhoods because of the disorder, but in the past few years, Fran has become a grandmother and she couldn’t stand the idea of missing their lives as well. After contacting doctors, they agreed she might be a good candidate for a rare and expensive procedure, the Boston Kerato Prosthesis operation.

Doctors replaced Fran’s corneas and after the surgery, she was able to see for the first time in nearly five decades and got to see what her daughters looked like and finally is able to read to her grandkids like she always dreamed of.

“It’s the best present of all.”

Soldiers dedicate and risk their lives to stand up for our rights and beliefs, which is why these active military moms came together to stand up for their own rights as mothers, and mothers everywhere.

Unfortunately, mothers across the country face harsh judgment and prejudice for trying to breastfeed their children in public, and these soldier moms are no different. To help normalize breastfeeding in public, these active duty military moms decided to come together in uniform and breastfeed their children at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C..

The moms came out wearing their full military uniforms and later changed into civilian clothes to show that they are active soldiers yet still mothers to young children, and often have no choice but to breastfeed in public or pump milk during breaks in spite of the criticism and backlash .

“I always knew that laws protecting breastfeeding mothers in my state (VA) were not ideal,” one mom, Jocelyn, said. “In 2014, I decided to begin work to improve breastfeeding-related laws and founded the VA Alliance for Breastfeeding Laws.”

Soldier Moms Breastfeed In Public For One Incredible Reason is an article from: LifeDaily

It’s a parent’s job to guide and keep their children safe until they can look after themselves, which is why one mother felt like a failure after her first son tragically drowned at just 2 years old.

In order to protect her second child from drowning, Keri Morrison enrolled her then 6-month-old daughter Josie in Infant Swimming Resource lessons that teach babies and children to hold their breath, float, and roll over without sinking. The lessons lasted four weeks, and each lesson lasts only 10 minutes

However, Morrison faced backlash from strangers online when she posted a video of her now 13-month-old falling into the pool face first and does nothing for nearly two minutes as she flips herself over and floats on her back.

While Josie was able to stay afloat, she was clearly struggling and exhausting herself to keep her head above the water, and was visibly upset after she let out a few whimpers.

Despite the backlash, Morrison insists she’s protecting her daughter. “My son is no longer here because he didn’t have these skills,” Morrison said. “To me, I’m protecting her, and that’s what a parent is supposed to do— to protect her child— and I feel like I failed my son, and I’m not going to fail my daughter.”

While most farmers try to think of their farm animals as assets rather than pets, one farmer couldn’t help but grow attached to his horses, who he had been raising for 13 years. And when his beloved horse, Freedom, fell into a pit, he did everything to save her.

Farmer Marek słodkowski looked for Freedom in her pastures, but couldn’t find her anywhere. Eventually, he wandered into his farm’s garage where he finally found her trapped in a maintenance pit that had been covered up with planks of old wood that must have given out under her weight.

Marek could tell Freedom was distressed and giving up hope, and desperately called the fire department to help find a way to free her after his own attempts failed.

The firemen tried lifting her out of the pit using their water hoses, but they weren’t strong enough. While they tried to brainstorm, Marek started to fear this was the end for Freedom. “This is it, she’s going to die,” Marek said in defeat.

For hours, Freedom had been too weak and injured to even stand on her own, but suddenly, she lifted her front legs out of the pit. The firemen quickly readjusted their hoses, and were able to give her the push she needed to get out.

By the morning of a big test, most teachers have put in hours of preparation, teaching, and extra help to make sure their students learn the material, and by the morning of a big test, many think there’s nothing more they can do to help prepare their students.

Yet Chandi Langford, a fifth-grade teacher in New Jersey’s Woodbury School System, knew teaching the material was only one way to prepare her students as all those hours learning and studying would mean nothing if her students weren’t confident and comfortable.

In order to ease her student’s anxiety and nerves, Chandi decided to write personal messages in erasable whiteboard marker on each desk as well as lay out two munchkins for a quick snack before handing out the test.

Chandi’s messages were all motivational, but were all unique for each child. On one student’s desk, Chandi wrote “Lis, Remember, there is no elevator to success, you must take the stairs! You got this!”

Teacher Writes Encouraging Messages On Student’s Desks On Morning Of A Big Test is an article from: LifeDaily

While doctors have been able to understand and explain even the most minute functions within the human body, sometimes things happen that are beyond reason or scientific explanation.

70-year-old Mary Ann Franco has been blind for more than two decades after she gradually lost her vision when she injured her spine in a car accident. “I was fully blind,” Franco explained. “All I could see was blackness.” Franco continued to live her life as independently as she could, yet her age and her disability have made her more unsteady than ever.

This past August, Franco had been walking around her Florida home when she tripped on her tile floor, and hit her head. While she wasn’t seriously injured, Franco needed surgery to fix the damage.

Four hours later, Franco was slowly waking up from the anesthesia and was too groggy to notice she could see everything around her. “I looked towards the foot of my bed and said, ‘Hey, lady in purple, get me something for pain’,” Franco said. “I was in so much pain, I wasn’t nice— and I’m always nice.”

“My niece said: ‘what did you say?’ and I realized I could see,” Franco explained. Not only did she gain her eyesight back, but she had been born colorblind and was now seeing everything perfectly.

While doctors have no word for what happened to the 70-year-old, Franco is confident she just experienced a miracle from God. “I believe he just went ahead and gave it to me, he gave me back my sight,” she told WPBF News. “I really believe this with all my heart.”

70-Year-Old Miraculously Regains Her Sight After Hitting Her Head is an article from: LifeDaily

Parents are supposed to be there for their children 24 hours of the day, seven days a week, which is why so many parents were shocked when this mom and dad explained that they spend every weekend kid-free.

Rachael Finch and her husband Michael Miziner first met in 2010 on the Australian version of ‘Dancing With the Stars’, and married two years later in 2013. Shortly after, they welcomed their first daughter named Violet into the world and their priorities shifted from their career and social lives to their daughter. “The priorities have become Violet and family, because you have this little thing that’s dependent on you,” Finch said.

However, parents criticized the couple for ‘neglecting’ and ‘abandoning’ Violet when Finch admitted that the couple sends her to stay at her 85-year-old paternal grandmother’s house every weekend so they can have one-on-one time and maintain their social lives.

“Every weekend (Violet) goes to Mish’s mum’s house, and we get our weekend to ourselves. I think that’s incredibly healthy for the relationship. And on Sunday, when we pick her up, we have 100 percent energy back,” Finch said. But other parents couldn’t help but point out that the 2-year-old was being treated as an accessory, and would eventually resent not being a valued member of the family.

After the backlash, Finch took to her social media accounts to defend her choices as a parent. “A Mother should never be made to feel they are not good enough for their child when they are doing everything they can to keep them safe, happy and loved. Only the parents of a child truly know what is best and should always have faith in their decisions.”

Parents Flip When Mom Reveals She Gives Her Baby Away On Weekends For ‘Alone Time’ is an article from: LifeDaily

New moms and dads want to give their newborns the best of everything to keep them healthy and happy, however, sometimes they can unknowingly be doing more harm than good.

When it comes to sleeping, for example, many parents think surrounding their newborns with soft, plush blankets and cute stuffed animals on a comfy mattress pad. While parents mean well, all of these things can strangle or suffocate babies and cause sudden unexpected infant death (SUID). Ideally, babies should sleep on a firm surface in their backs in their parent’s room.

In an attempt to lower infant mortality rates, Temple University Hospital in Philidelphia decided to give every new mom a free baby box that serves as a safe bed.

“Suffocation is the leading cause of infant deaths,” said Jennifer Rodriguez, director of nursing services at Temple University Hospital. “The baby boxes are a safe sleeping environment that prevents parents from having their children sleep in the same bed as them.”

“We weren’t sure how people were going to react to putting their babies in a box, but it’s been an overwhelmingly positive response,” Dr. Megan Heere, assistant professor of pediatrics at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, said.

Hospital Gives New Parents Boxes For Their Newborns To Sleep In For One Life-Saving Reason is an article from: LifeDaily

Unfortunately, almost all breastfeeding mother will find themselves being shamed or harassed at one point or another by strangers who feel it’s inappropriate, yet one young mom never expected to be shamed for breastfeeding by a nurse in the hospital.

18-year-old Darcie Pennington was visiting the Royal Liverpool Hospital with her three-month-old son and mother to see her grandmother who was sick with cancer. When she began breastfeeding her son in her grandmother’s semi-private room, a nurse approached her and forced her into a private room as it was making a man uncomfortable.

“I was shocked by what she had said and told her politely that I am legally allowed to feed my child wherever I like. And I considered I was feeding in a fairly private area anyway, with my back to the room,” Pennington wrote in a post to Facebook. “Another nurse then came up and said they were protecting my dignity.”

“I’ve fed everywhere, shopping centres, shops, cafes – and I’ve never had a problem like this before. I can’t believe this attitude came in a hospital, and from nurses.”

‘I asked if dignity would need to be protected if I was feeding with a bottle, and I was told that no, because feeding with a bottle was not sexual. When I went to sit back down to resume the feed the nurse stormed over and rudely tugged the curtain around us. I was incredibly hurt, upset and embarrassed.”

Soon after, Pennington and her mother felt so uncomfortable they had to leave the hospital, who later apologized for the misunderstanding. “If I wasn’t so passionate and they had confronted someone who was new to breastfeeding they could have made them feel like they weren’t doing the right thing and to me that is appalling behaviour,” Pennington said.

Nurse Tells A Young Mom She Can’t Breastfeed Her Baby For A Disgusting Reason is an article from: LifeDaily

We’ve all been told how eating too much fast food will eventually kill you, however, it seems one Salem man’s daily diet of Domino’s pizza is the very thing that’s kept him alive.

48-year-old Kirk Alexander has been ordering food from his local Domino’s nearly every single day for about 7 years, and it didn’t take long for the staff to start recognizing his orders and even getting to know him a little bit. “He orders every day, every other day,” general manager Sarah Fuller said. “His order pops up on the screen because he orders online. So we see it come across the screen and we’re like, ‘Oh, Kirk’s order.’”

So when Alexander didn’t order for a few day, they all thought it was surprising but they weren’t concerned. Once 11 days passed without a single order, however, they started to get worried. Fuller decided to send Tracey Hamblen, an employee who had delivered many of Kirk’s orders in the past, to check and see he was ok.

When Hamblen got there, he noticed the lights and tv were on but when he knocked on the door no one answered, and Alexander’s phone went straight to voicemail. Luckily, Hamblen remembered he had health issues and called 911 immediately.

Alexander was found lying on the floor of his home after having a stroke, but was rescued just in time thanks to Hamblen. “He orders all the time, so we know him. I think we were just doing our job checking in on someone we know who orders a lot. We felt like we needed to do something,” Fuller said.

Domino’s Delivery Man Saves A Customer’s Life After He Suddenly Stops Placing Orders is an article from: LifeDaily

While new parents hope their four-legged babies get along with their newborn, they can sometimes get jealous and resent the fact that someone has stolen their spotlight, which is why one couple’s friends suggested they might have to get rid of their dog, Keola.

But 21-year-old Alhanna Butler and husband Ricky, 25, couldn’t bare to separate with their beloved dog who was the first one to even realize Alhanna was expecting. “We did test after test but with no luck. They just kept coming up negative,” Alhanna said.

“One day I had binned a negative test and gone out shopping. When we returned, Keola had gone through the bin and had got the pregnancy test out of the bin. She had never touched the bins before so it was very odd. She was sat with it in front of her like she was trying to tell us something.”

“I grabbed it and saw a faint second line – I couldn’t believe it. I showed Ricky straight away and said Keola was saying I was pregnant but he said the line was too faint and it was just coincidence so we binned it again,” Alhanna said. But Keola was right, they were two weeks pregnant.

“We were both over the moon and we realised that Keola was truly a special dog who could detect things that we couldn’t.” But 16 weeks later, Alhanna went to the hospital complaining of intense pain and sickness, which doctors brushed off as nothing.

Keola sensed something was wrong, however, and tried desperately to tell them.

“No one really understood how ill I was – but Keola did. She would nudge me and cry and I could never figure out why she had suddenly started doing this. Ricky said she was distraught whenever I went to work, when she had never minded before,” Alhanna said.

Alhanna finally decided to listen to Keola, but when she arrived at the hospital, she collapsed and almost died from an antibiotic-resistant bug and a double kidney infection. Doctors were able to save Alhanna and her unborn son, but warned that if she had come in even one day later, she would most likely be dead. “I have absolutely no doubt that both me and Lincoln would not be here today if it wasn’t for Keola,” she said.

At first, the farmer was alarmed when he look out at the field. He expected to see his horses standing around and grazing on the grass like usual, but instead the field looked completely empty.

He started panicking and thinking he may have accidentally left a gate open and lost his horses, but when he stepped outside he was relieved when he spotted all of his horses laying on their sides.

The farmer still couldn’t figure out what the horses were up to, but as he stepped closer, he couldn’t help but laugh when he heard their loud snoring and realized they were just enjoying a blissful nap in the sun.

People are used to seeing a mother comfort her sick or upset child, but everyone’s shocked the minute a dad shows his nurturing side and does the same for his children.

Two years ago, Heather Whitten and husband Thomas desperately tried to make their almost 1-year-old son feel better after vomiting and having diarrhea all night. While trying to soothe and clean their little boy, Thomas decided to strip down and hold his son, Fox, under the stream of the shower.

As Thomas sat with Fox for two hours, Heather couldn’t help but snap a picture of the touching scene. “I snapped a couple of pictures,” Heather said. “It was just beautiful. It was not surprising or anything out of the ordinary; it’s how he has always been with the kids.” Thankfully, Fox was feeling better in no time after tests revealed he had salmonella, but that scene of dad and child together left a lasting impression on Heather, who later shared the photo on Facebook.

Immediately, people began criticizing Thomas and claiming the photo was sexual, and Facebook even banned the photo twice. “I wanted to take it down just because I thought it would get blown out of proportion,” Heather said. “I thought the point was getting missed.”

Despite the criticism, Heather chose to keep the photo of Thomas, who works for the Air Force, and Fox up to show people what a nurturing father looks like. “It is okay to get naked with your son and nurture him … the important thing is really taking care of your kiddos,” she said.

“I think it would be really powerful to show my son [the picture of] him vulnerable and wrapped up in his father’s arms,” she said. The photo shows “this is the kind of man that your father is and I hope that [Fox] will see that and never be ashamed or embarrassed by it.”

While many parents have no trouble starting a family, it can take other couples many years, many fertility treatments, and even many miscarriages to finally get pregnant and start a family.

For the past four years, Macy has given herself countless hormone injections, and has had three miscarriages. Yet for the first time ever, she’s happy to announce that she and her husband are expecting a baby due this October. “Our baby doesn’t erase years of loss, depression, hopelessness, pain, tears, and crying out to God. Our baby doesn’t replace the babies that were lost years before.”

Macy felt a typical baby announcement would gloss over the struggle and heartbreak they had faced over the years and instead shared her ‘infertility pregnancy announcement’ by showing all the things they had to do to get pregnant.

“It only took 4 years, 3 miscarriages, depression, 107 hormone injections, one surgery, two procedures, over 100 suppositories, and several thousand dollars to get our baby. You might ask how I say that we’re lucky. We’re lucky because we get to have a baby,” Macy wrote in a post on her blog.

“What our baby does do is fill us with a love and joy and gratefulness that I never knew possible. When I look at that ultrasound my heart actually skips,” she said.

“For years I lived never knowing if I would ever have an ultrasound photo hanging on my fridge,” Macy wrote. “If I would ever have a bump or see that coveted stretch mark on my belly, or if the baby clothes I bought for friends would ever hang in my own home. Thanks to medical advancements, many couples struggling to have a baby and start their family have more options like In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) to help them accomplish what otherwise would have been impossible.

Older couples, however, didn’t have those options, and many were forced to either adopt or not have children. Daljinder Kaur and her husband Mohinder Singh Gill have always wanted a baby of their own, and have been trying to conceive, despite their old age, for the entirety of their 46-year marriage.

Kaur, who is now approximately 72 years old, and Gill, 79, adopted a son in the 1980s, but lost touch with him when he went to study in America. As their last hope to finally complete their family, the couple reached out to embryologist Anurag Bishnoi.

“I first tried to avoid the case because she was very weak,” Bishnoi said. “But then her medical reports were normal and she was fit to conceive.” Kaur had three rounds of IVF, and the last attempt turned out to be successful.

On April 19, 2016, the couple gave birth to a healthy 4.4lb son named Arman. “God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now,” she said.“I am looking after the baby all by myself. I feel so full of energy. My husband is also very caring and helps me as much as he can.”

72-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To A Healthy Baby Boy is an article from: LifeDaily

Weddings are so much more than just a party for a couple to show off their love to their closest friends and family. Weddings symbolize the commitment between two people who love each other, and the intent to share a long life together, through the good and the bad.

Yet when one Illinois mom, Destini Schafer, found out she had stage four stomach cancer just weeks before she was supposed to walk down the aisle, her wedding, and everything it stood for, was taken from her. Rather than jet off with her fianceé Brandon Thomas to Jamaica to elope, Destini was sick in the hospital, fighting for her life.

When Destini’s nurse, Ashley Shipley-Lovekamp, heard about the canceled wedding, she knew she had to help if she could, and began planning a last minute wedding for the couple. “Everyone should get the wedding they deserve,” Shipley-Lovekamp said.

Destini’s condition was only getting worse, however, and doctors told the mother of three that her body was too weak for chemotherapy, so the nurses had to work around the clock to plan everything in such a short time.

In just five days, nurses helped organize the dress, the rings, the guests, the tuxedos, and the venue- the courtyard of the Memorial Medical Center. “I can’t thank the staff enough for all the kindness and great care they’ve shown me and what they did for us,” Destini said after getting the chance to walk down the aisle.

Incredibly, the wedding and the celebrations lifted Destini’s spirits so much that doctors deemed her strong enough to start chemo, and so far, she had successfully completed two rounds.
