Most people dream of falling in love, getting in married, and starting a family in that order, but one mom-to-be knew she had found the love of her life, and didn’t care about the order in which those milestones happened.

Lorenza Pardo and Louis Bruno met five years ago while in college and have been together ever since. Pardo and Bruno had always wanted to get married eventually, but never had the time to think about planning a wedding since both are full-time teachers while also working on their Master’s degrees. “We’ve been together five years, and we were planning on getting married all along,” Pardo said.

Then Pardo found out she was expecting her first child with her long-time boyfriend. “The baby was a little surprise because I was on birth control, but things happen,” she said. “This wasn’t going to change anything, it’s just that things might happen a little out of typical order,” she added.

Two days after 26-year-old Pardo and Bruno found out the incredible news, they called their best friends to share the news. “We FaceTimed them right away, I think two days after we found out, before we told anyone else.” Her friend immediately got in touch with her brother-in-law, a professional photographer, and set up a maternity shoot.

Bruno had been thinking about proposing for a while, and when he heard about the photo shoot, he knew it was the perfect opportunity.

“The photographer had us standing back to back — he said that’s a shot he does with a lot of couples,” Pardo said. “He told me to put my hands on my belly, and then I turned around. I was looking at Louis’ face, so I didn’t see the ring at first.”

“Then, when I saw it, I just broke down,” Pardo said. “I’m an emotional person as is, and especially so with pregnancy hormones. I really don’t even know what he said. I was just crying and shaking.”

While mom was busy enjoying the peace and quiet, she didn’t notice how close her horse was getting to the baby, but was stunned once she opened her eyes and saw what was happening.

The giant horse could have easily harmed the baby, but instead, it began nudging the baby’s car seat as gently as possible to help rock her to sleep.

As part of a training drill, three firemen from the Fire Department of New York invited their girlfriends along to sit on the ledge of a third story window for a drill where the firefighters would practice rappelling down the side of a building and rescuing the women.

While these three firemen prepared their girlfriends for the drill, they all kept a big secret about what would happen once they reached them in the windows.

Before rappelling the rest of the way to the ground with their girlfriends, each firefighter paused in the window with their unsuspecting girlfriends and took out engagement rings from their pockets and proposed as they dangled off the side of the building.

Three Firemen Propose To Their Stunned Girlfriends During A Practice Drill is an article from: LifeDaily

We’ve all been guilty of staring at a misbehaved child and silently judging their parents for not being able to control their own child as they disrupt the peace.

Typically, however, those outbursts have little to do with bad parenting, which is why one mom decided to print out business cards explaining why her son, who was diagnosed with autism at three years old, behaved the way he did to educate people who jumped to incorrect conclusions.

45-year-old Sunnie Sciascia was used to her son’s outbursts, but she could always feel stranger’s judgment while out in public, and knew she had to do something after a stranger rudely called out her son’s bad behavior.

“I was at a restaurant with Georgie and my husband, and we were having a great time until a lady who had a disability yelled out across the restaurant ‘what’s wrong with your son?’ Sciascia said. ‘Everyone stopped to look at her and looked at us. And I was a bit angry so I yelled back saying ‘he has autism’.”

After that incident, the Western Australian mom decided to print out ‘business cards’ explaining how her son has autism when she noticed people staring.

“Hi, you have noticed that my son is different,” the card says. “Our son has autism, he may be very loud at times, or seem shy or doesn’t say much. but our son is very happy, caring and loves being around other children.”

“Autism is a neurological disability, which means that parts of our son’s brain works well and other parts do not. However with love, therapy, a great diet and lot’s of hugs and kisses our little man is improving everyday. I thank you for your time, have a lovely day,” the card concludes.

“It just changed my life. I was going up to people and they were looking at us funny and I would just hand over this card, and their faces would change straight away,” Sciascia said. “They become more sympathetic. I’ve had so many people come and hug me, tell me I’m doing a great job and it just basically completely changed my whole outlook on autism.”

Most loving pet owners would risk everything to make sure their beloved pets were safe, yet that choice was taken away from thousands of Fort McMurray Canadians when they were frantically forced to leave behind their lives, homes, and belongings.

When forced to evacuate to a safer area, many were prohibited from returning to their homes to collect some of their belongings and pets, and had to face the devastating reality that their four-legged family members might not survive. However, one man decided not to evacuate and take care of as many animals as he could that were left behind.

At first, Lee Ellis was just planning on waiting until the evacuation rush calmed down to leave, but as he waited he decided to help out friends who had contacted him to check in on their cat.

After posting on Facebook about checking in on some pets for people who were being kept from the area, he began getting messages from desperate pet owners to see if he could check up and feed their pets too.

“They would give me their door codes. They would tell me where the food was. There were only a couple of incidents where I had to feed them out of my own supply,” Ellis said. “The support and the thanks were overwhelming on my Facebook page. It was unbelievable. It helped me keep on going when I was too tired to go.”

During the day, Ellis began biking between 20 different homes to provide food, water, and attention to people’s left behind pets. “They weren’t only starved for food and water, they were starved for attention,” he said.

This Man Refuses To Leave During A Wildfire Evacuation To Care For Pets Left Behind is an article from: LifeDaily

Doctors deal with paranoid patients who scare themselves into thinking the worst so frequently that they often downplay symptoms and ignore a patient’s gut feeling, which is what happened when a pregnant mom visited the doctor complaining that something wasn’t right.

Jamie-Lee Graves was told she’d never have any more kids after a car accident crushed her pelvis seven years ago, which is why it was such a miracle when she found out she was pregnant with a baby girl. “Finding out I was pregnant had been a dream come true,” she said.

The entire pregnancy had been going smoothly, but then at 26 weeks, Graves started to feel like something was very wrong. She visited her doctor, but they assumed she was being paranoid, told her everything was fine, and sent her home. “I knew something was wrong, but they wouldn’t listen,” Graves said.

As soon as she got home, however, Graves’ water broke. She rushed back to the hospital, and tests finally revealed she had a urinary tract infection (UTI), which is common for pregnant women and can often have no symptoms.

Doctors were forced to perform an emergency delivery, but baby Amelia Rose stopped breathing before being born. “My first words were, is she dead… They put her on my chest and I looked at my beautiful girl. She wasn’t breathing but she was perfect.”

Now Graves is sharing her devastating story in hopes that it will warn other mothers about how serious UTIs can be for a pregnant woman, and also show moms how important it is to make doctors listen when something doesn’t feel right. “If you feel like something is wrong, insist that your doctors listen to you. If I can save one other parent going through what I did with losing Amelia, then at least that’s something,” she said.

Lacey and Banks knew they would never give up trying to have a baby, but decided to keep any potential baby news to themselves from that point forward. Without anyone knowing, they signed up with an adoption matching service, and were matched with a birth mother who they became close with over the following months.

When the baby girl was finally born, Lacey and Banks were right beside her birth mother, who felt confident they were the right parents for her baby girl, who they named Finley. “Waiting was the most difficult thing. No one is going to know how you feel unless they have gone through it. All the tears and all the prayers – when you finally get what you were longing for – it is so worth it,” Lacey said. “Waiting through the darkest moments is so hard.”

Finally, Lacey and Banks were able to share the exciting news with their family, and decided to just show up on their friends’ and family’s doorsteps holding their new daughter. “The reveal was incredible. For Finley to grow up and see how happy everyone was to see her – it meant everything. It was so cool to have our family 100% percent behind us.”

Couple Stuns Family With Surprise Adoption When They Show Up At Their Door With A Newborn is an article from: LifeDaily

Anyone who lives in a major city is used to seeing garbage piled up on the sidewalk waiting to get picked up by garbage collectors, which is why one woman didn’t think anything was unusual when she saw a storage bin by other garbage outside of her work one morning.

Luckily the baby was ok, but one young mother who was walking by could tell the baby was starving by her cries. Without hesitating, the unnamed 26-year-old took the baby, sat on the ground with her, and began breastfeeding her.

Soon after, police arrived to take the baby, who is suspected to have cerebral palsy, from the selfless new mom who stepped up and cared for the starving baby when no one else did, and bring her to the Xianyang City Social Welfare institute.

Nelda, mom’s 8-month-old Labrador Retriever, jumped up on the couch beside baby Elsarose, laid down, and placed a protective paw over her belly to make sure she was safe, and Pebbles the kitten stood guard on top of Nelda for any danger.

Mom Finds Protective Dog And Cat Cuddling Her Newborn After Leaving Her On The Couch is an article from: LifeDaily

While sitting at a restaurant one evening with his sons, one dad watched as they busied themselves with the crayons and paper that was provided, but he couldn’t help but wonder what happened to the crayons after being used or broken.

Bryan Ware asked the waiter what happened to the crayons and was stunned to hear they had to throw them away.”They said they had to throw them away after it’s been on the table,” Ware said. “So that to me was just kind of a spark; there’s got to be something we could do with them.”

In order to reduce the 75,000 pounds of waste that crayons contributed to each year, Ware came up with the idea of collecting used and broken crayons from restaurants and schools, melting them down, and remolding them in a handmade mold so kids in need could have something to play with.

With donations from local restaurants and schools in San Fransisco, Ware is able to collect 500 pounds of used crayons each week, which he melts down and gives to hospitals for free for young and special needs patients.

“You would be surprised the things that come out when you put a piece of paper and some crayons in a kid’s hand,” Sara Devaney, who worked with the Children’s Hospital in Oakland, said. “It’s as important to their healing as the medications that they receive.”

“It provides them the ability to be whatever they want to be,” Ware said. “Dream whatever they want to be. That right there is why we do this.”

Tiny babies are basically just ticking time bombs of bodily fluids that can, and do explode at often the most inconvenient times.

Ben Patterson had agreed to watch the kids one weeknight so that his wife Stephanie could have a kid-free night out with friends. “I was supposed to watch the kids, so my wife and I swapped cars after work so she could head out with some friends,” Ben wrote in a post to Facebook.

After swapping cars, everything was going great as Ben drove home with son Declan behind him in his car seat, but the pleasant drive came to a screeching halt when the smell of fresh vomit filled the car.

“I just threw up trying to clean him up. It smells SO BAD,” Ben texted his wife after pulling over and trying to clean up the pungent mess. “I seriously don’t know what to do, I’m barfing every time I try to clean him up.”

Before long, a stranger spotted Ben as he puked on the side of the road, and accused him of drunk driving with his baby in the car.

“I’m puking on some lady’s lawn in Burlingame and she comes out to ask me if I’m drunk while driving the kids. I’m trying to explain that I’m a sympathetic vomiter and can’t handle the smell. This is so bad.”

Ben soon realized he was just making the mess worse, and had to drive the rest of the way home in the vomit-filled car with his nose and mouth covered by his shirt and his head half out the window.

For many mothers, giving birth is an exciting yet terrifying ordeal, so being able to choose the form of delivery can help provide a sense of control when so many other things are entirely outside of their control.

So when Sarah Saunders, from Devon, UK, was told she would have to deliver her baby through a caesarean section instead of the natural birth she had been planning for, she was devastated but settled on the next best thing: a ‘natural c-section‘.

“If you are unable to give birth ‘naturally’ than having a natural caesarean is the next best thing!” Saunders wrote in the caption that accompanied her delivery video.

Traditional c-sections involve doctors quickly and often forcefully pulling the baby out of the womb, whereas natural c-sections allow the infant to crawl out of the womb mostly on its own.

“The baby remains in the abdomen for up to four minutes and the mother can look at it, see its little face and when it wriggles out it is the parents that first determine the sex,” Jenny Smith, a senior midwife at the Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, said.

‘It is about the mother. After the incision is made the mother is able to see her little baby wriggle out. It is a special moment that is missed otherwise,” Smith said.

Mom Lets Baby Deliver Itself So She Can Have A ‘Natural’ C-Section is an article from: LifeDaily

We’ve all been warned of the dangers of leaving a baby or child in a locked car on a warm day, and the dangers for dogs in that situation are just as real as the temperature inside of a car can easily reach 120 degrees in a few minutes on a 78-degree day.

One dog owner, however, had no idea how hot the inside of her van could get on a mildly warm day, and figured it would be fine to leave her French mastiff behind in the van while she ran a few quick errands. Yet, the dog quickly panicked as the temperature rose and resorted to breaking the window for fresh air.

“When I first saw the dog, I thought that the window was partially down but there was glass on the floor and he had his front paws out towards us,” 13-year-old school boy Bradley North said of the moment he realized something was wrong.

“Me and my friends waited for five minutes for the owner to come back to the van but the dog ran up and jumped through the window and started to hang himself,” North said.

The 13-year old rushed over to the struggling dog who was now hanging himself as his leash got stuck on something when he tried jumping out. “I lifted him up slightly so he would stop hanging himself then I managed to unpick the buckle on the lead and managed to save him.”

“I waited for 15 minutes for the owner to come back and she thanked me for saving him then I helped her sweep up the glass,” North explained. “I felt really sorry for the dog when I saw them and I just thought about my own dog and that I would want someone to save him if he was in the same position.”

Hero Boy Rescues Dog’s Life After Breaking A Window To Escape Hot Van is an article from: LifeDaily

Because of tragedies involving guns that have plagued schools across the country, many districts have been forced to ban all weapons, even harmless toy versions, from school property in an effort to keep everyone safe and avoid false alarms.

Emma, a Colorado mother, was always glad there were rules like this put in place to protect her 5-year-old daughter in kindergarten, which is why she was shocked when the school called her to inform her that her daughter was being suspended for bringing a gun to school.

Emma couldn’t figure out where her daughter could have gotten her hands on a gun, but when she picked her up from school, she saw that the ‘gun’ they were talking about was really a princess themed bubble maker.

“If they had contacted me and said can you make sure this doesn’t happen again, we just want you to be aware, I think that would have been a more appropriate way to handle the situation. Could we have a warning? It blows bubbles,” Emma said.

Despite clearly not being a threat to anyone, the school is sticking to their zero-tolerance policy. “While we hear and understand the parents of this student being concerned about this discipline in light of the student’s age and type of item, this suspension is consistent with our district policy,” school spokesman Kevin Denke said.

“I don’t want her to miss out on class. That’s a silly reason not to go to school. What bugs me is this is going to be something they can refer to if we have any issues in the future which I don’t foresee, but it’s always going to be lingering there in her school file,” the frustrated mom said.

Grandma Can’t Contain Her Excitement When Her Son Shows Her This On A Sonogram is an article from: LifeDaily

Life on the streets as a homeless dog is hard enough as it is, and when this injured mother pit bull gave birth to her three pups, staying alive became even more difficult.

Rather than just abandon her pups and fend for herself, this mom stuck by her pups all day in a makeshift den in an overgrown bush, and only left them for short times during the night when it was safe to look for food and water.

While this mom tried her hardest to stay hidden and safe, someone eventually noticed her and called Hope For Paws, an animal rescue organization in Los Angeles, to save her and her pups.

When rescuers got to the scene where the pit bull, who they later named Iris, was last spotted, they searched for a long time before hearing some rustling in a bush. “Finding Iris was difficult, but it could have been dangerous… we didn’t know how she would react when we entered her den, and there is always a risk when going to these rough neighborhoods in the middle of the night,” the rescue organization said.

Iris was petrified and could have easily run away when rescuers found her den, but she refused to leave her babies. Luckily, the team was able to gently coax her and her weeks-old puppies out safely.

Heroes Rescue Injured, Homeless Mother Dog And Her Babies From Hidden Den is an article from: LifeDaily

Seeing your child walk down the aisle and commit to spending the rest of their lives with the person they love is an emotional moment for all parents, but for one Pennsylvania mom, that moment was even more precious since it was a moment she thought she’d never get to see.

In 2013, mom Joy Hoke suddenly lost vision in her left eye due to a condition that causes a loss of blood flow to the optic nerve called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Then just a year later in January 2014, the same thing happened to her right eye, which made her completely blind.

“I’m legally blind. I can’t drive. I can’t work. I can’t read and then I’m not going to be able to see my daughter get married or see my grandbabies,” 54-year-old Hoke said as she recalled the first things she realized she’d no longer be able to do.

Soon after going completely blind, a family friend sent Hoke’s husband, Dave, information about special glasses that allow the blind to see. The glasses, which are made by a Canadian company called eSight, cost $15,000 and were unfortunately not covered by insurance.

Hoke’s family and friends set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for the glasses, and by the end of 2015, they had raised enough to purchase them as well as donate an extra $2,000 to another blind woman raising money for the same glasses. “Every morning I’d wake up and tears would start streaming down my cheeks. I could not believe it,” Hoke said.

“Without the glasses my visual acuity was 20/400 and with the glasses my acuity was 20/40,” Hoke said. And thanks to her special glasses, she was finally able to watch her 26-year-old daughter Lauren walk down the aisle on her wedding day.

“It was just so amazing to see my husband and my daughter and without the glasses they would have looked like just two white blobs,” Hoke said. “I felt my throat close with tears and my eyes start to well.”

“It’s such an answered prayer, from having the glasses work for me to the fundraising to seeing my daughter’s wedding, it’s all been an answer from God,” she said.

There are a few reasons why most hospitals only allow two other people to accompany mom into the delivery room, and one of the main reasons being that it’s such an intimate and emotional moment for mom and dad.

Dad Kali Kanongata was one of those few people let into the delivery room when his wife went into labor, but he decided to film the birth so he could share the special moment with his extended family on the Polynesian island of Tonga.

However, rather than just share the incredibly personal 45-minute video with some family and friends, Kali accidentally shared the footage publicly on Facebook to more than 200,000 people without his wife’s permission.

Stunned viewers were quick to comment, and while many were impressed with how excited dad was, many others criticized him for sharing the video publicly.

“We just see it as a positive. I know some people are mad that it’s not private, but I’m from the island [of Tonga], and years ago, we would have water births in public. I wasn’t too worried about hiding anything because our culture has done this for thousands of years,” Kali said.

“I aired it live because people would rather talk about Donald Trump’s hair than the blessings in life,” Kali said to remind commenters to celebrate life’s blessings.

Almost no two women have the exact same body, which is why no two pregnancies are exactly alike. Some women barely show at all even in the ninth month, whereas others look ready to pop in just a few months, and it shouldn’t matter as long as mom and baby are healthy.

Recently, however, pregnant moms have been receiving criticism from strangers who feel they aren’t big enough or are oppositely too big. 30-year-old plus-size model Tess Holliday can’t remember a time when she wasn’t criticized for her body, but it never stopped her from becoming a model, nor becoming a mother.

Holliday is currently nine months pregnant with her second child, and over the past few months, she’s been criticized for her weight, her health, and the size of her baby belly. “Having another baby has been a beautiful process & at times, frustrating. As I enter my 8th month, my body overall looks the same other than my belly & I’m okay with that,” Holliday wrote in a caption along with a nude photo of her baby bump to silence the criticism.

“What I’ve had to learn to be okay with (WHICH IS NOT COOL) is the fact that people still think it’s okay to comment on my body: “you don’t look pregnant”, “you must be have quadruplets”, “you are putting your baby at risk” & a slew of other uneducated statements that are very far from my reality,” Holliday explained.

“When “celebrities” are pregnant in the press, they look glamorous, toned & are eager to talk about how they are going to get the baby weight off. While I’ve done my best to look as put together as possible, that’s not real life, & it’s not for most women,” she said.

“I’m part of a small minority that’s telling you it’s okay to not have a perfect baby bump, or not show at all, to be plus size & have a healthy child, & most importantly to find a care provider that doesn’t shame you about your size,” Holliday wrote.

“It’s also okay to tell someone to fuck off when they give you unsolicited advice about what’s “best” for you & your baby. As women, we know what’s best & that’s our business.. No one else’s.”
