While this playful Corgi named Tucker wasn’t always excited about having a baby brother, it seems he’s warmed up to the idea of having a companion to play with.

Watch below as this Corgi tries desperately to get his baby brother to crawl so he can join in on playtime.

Baby Beau couldn’t help but giggle as his older brother Tucker the Corgi tries to get him to play.

The only problem is Beau hasn’t yet mastered the art of crawling, which makes Tucker a little impatient.

Motivation Monday: 7 Ways to Get Out of a Rut and Live the Life You Want

$

At some point we all feel stuck in our lives. Whether it be your career, relationship, or routine that’s in a rut, the way you handle the situation will dictate your happiness.

Take a look at these 7 tips on how to handle a rut the right way, and get back on track so you can start living the life you want.

7. Find inspiration in what you envy.

Instead of becoming a jealous monster when someone around you is doing what you want to do, be motivated by it instead of doing nothing about it. If they can do it, then there’s no reason you can’t take steps toward achieving your own goals.

6. Try something new.

One of the easiest ways to feel stuck or trapped in your own life, is to never try anything new. When you try something new, no matter how small, you’ll be challenging yourself and expanding your horizons. You may even stumble upon something that you love, and makes you feel like you have a new purpose.

5. Fuel your body.

If you’re constantly feeling tired and have no energy, the solution may be as simple as changing up what you’re putting into your body. If your diet lacks fresh fruit, vegetables, and enough water, you’re body won’t be able to function at the level you expect it to. Consider starting a food journal so you can more accurately see what kinds of food your eating.

4. Act on your true desires.

Stop saying no when you want to say yes, and oppositely stop saying yes when you really want to say no. Once you let go of your fears and anxiety that have been holding you back, you’ll feel empowered to say yes to what you want. It may require a risk, but being ‘safe’ is part of the reason why you got stuck in a rut in the first place. However, if you say yes when you don’t mean it, you’ll feel like your over-extending yourself, and living to please other people.

Take the time to decide what you really want, and act on those desires.

3. Let go of expectations.

Life doesn’t happen the way we expect it to, which means it might take you a little longer to achieve your goals than you planned. Once you come to terms with this, you can stop placing so much emphasis on the set-backs, and focus all your energy on ways to keep moving toward your goals.

2. Set aside a day for you.

How often do you set aside time for yourself or treat yourself? If you’re like most people, you probably only celebrate yourself on your birthday. However, if you don’t take care of yourself, and do things you love like reading a good book, treating yourself to a delicious meal, or getting a message, you’ll end up feeling drained and worn out. You may think you’re getting more done, by skimping on you time, but you’ll end up feeling dissatisfied and unhappy.

If you’re really short on time, even an hour or so every week doing something just for yourself will help you feel refreshed, and motivated to take on the week.

1. Let go of negative self-talk.

Nothing is more harmful for motivation than negative self-talk. While a little-self criticism isn’t bad, we tend to go overboard with the self-criticism, which has been proven to set us back even more.

If you’re feeling stuck, stop criticizing yourself for it, and actually do something about it instead.

Are you feeling stuck in a rut? Let us know if these 7 tips helped you get back on track in the comments below.

15 Things You Wish You’d Known as A College Freshman

$

College can be one of the best few years of your life. You make new friends, experience new things, and learn more about yourself and what you’re capable of, however, there’s a few things that you should know before starting your first year of college.

Take a look at these 15 things I wish I knew as a college freshman to help you navigate your first year.

15. If you walk around in huge herd of people, upperclassmen will moo at you.

That’s seriously the only way people can tell you’re a freshman, so if you don’t want to be too obvious, only travel in small groups.

14. Never buy your books from the campus bookstore. Ever.

The books on campus are outrageously overpriced, and you can buy or rent your books online from sites like Amazon and Chegg.

13. Never take a Friday class.

Sometimes it’s completely unavoidable, but if you can swap a course with a Friday class for another course that fills the same requirement, do it. Not only is it awesome to have a three-day weekend, but you’ll need that day to nurse your hangover from Thursday night.

12. Don’t fall into a relationship with the first girl/guy you think is cute.

There will be plenty of people you think are attractive at school, but your freshman year, or at least the first semester, should be about being on your own for the first time and experiencing new things with this new independence.

11. Go out with your friends no matter what day it is.

Forget only going out on Friday or Saturday nights. In college every night is a suitable drinking night, and you’ll want to be there to make memories with your new friends.

10. Speaking of friends, the ones you make your first semester, will most likely not be your friends by the end of your first year.

9. Don’t go to college in a long-distance relationship with your high school boyfriend or girlfriend.

You may think you’re going to get married, but you’re really not. Staying together will just make you resent each other as you miss out on the excitement of your first year away. Cut ties before you go away, so that you can start the year with a clean slate.

8. Got to the gym.

Seriously, it’s free, it’s open all the time, and the ‘freshman 15′ is a real thing. The sooner you set up a routine, the more likely you’ll be able to stick to it, and the better you’ll feel about yourself as you consume your weight in alcohol/cafeteria food.

7. Explore the city that lies beyond campus.

It’s easy to get so caught up in campus life that you never actually leave the bubble, but go out and explore the city that you’re going to call home for the next few years.

6. Never hook-up with a floor-mate.

It’s almost a guarantee that two people on the floor will hook-up. Don’t be one of those people. No matter what. Things never end well, and you’ll have to see them everyday for the rest of the year.

5. Just because the dining hall serves pizza, ice cream, and cookies everyday, it doesn’t mean you have to eat it.

While it may seem appealing, you’ll thank yourself in the long run when you don’t gain the aforementioned ‘freshman 15′.

4. The professor, not the class, will make or break your academic life.

When it comes time to choosing a class, it’s equally, if not more, important to research your professor. A hard course can be worlds easier with the right professor, so get familiar with sites like Ratemyprofessor.com

3. You may not like your roommate.

Everyone hopes to become best friends with their freshman roommate, but the reality of the situation is living with a total stranger can be really difficult. If you don’t end up getting along with them, always remember to be respectful and learn to co-exist.

2. If you want to save money, only carry cash.

It’s so easy to spend more than you planned to when out shopping with new friends or drinking at the bar, but if you only carry cash, there’s absolutely no way you can overspend.

1. You might hate it for the first few weeks.

When getting ready to go off to college for the first time, everyone focuses on how much fun they will have, and never about the transition. Being away from your friends and family can be a huge shock to the system, but if you give it time, it will get better.

4 Reasons You Should Try Something New Everyday

$

If you’re not careful, it’s easy to get so comfortable with your routine that you’re eating the same foods, listening to the same music, talking to the same people everyday without even noticing. While there’s nothing wrong with doing what you like, it’s a surefire way to shelter yourself from the big, exciting world full of things you’ve yet to experienced.

While change can be scary, you’ll be opening yourself up to the world, and learning more about yourself. Try starting out small at first- like trying a new restaurant for dinner or wearing your hair a new way- to ease yourself into the new.

Take a look at these 4 reasons why you should try something new everyday.

4. Boost your confidence.

You’ve probably heard the saying “you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take” when you were growing up. While it’s a little corny, it’s also 100 percent true. When you try something new, you’re challenging yourself, and giving yourself the opportunity to be brave.

We often belittle our skills, but you’d be surprised at how much you’re actually capable of. When you try something new, you’re giving yourself the chance to rise to the occasion, and even if you do fail, you’ll be proud that you took a chance and put yourself out there.

3. Learn to accept failure.

Failure is a necessary part of life, however we live in a failure aversive society where people would do anything to avoid failure. Our ego’s try to convince us that failure is the bad for us, but it helps us learn, grow as people, and be more patient. The more you experience failure and learn to accept it as part of life, the easier it will be to try new things, and take chances.

While you might be resistant to trying something new each day, it will get easier as you find out that failing isn’t actually bad for you.

2. Live without regret.

As people get older, one of the biggest regrets is not taking chances. We can get so wrapped up in self-doubt and anxiety when approaching a new situations that we end up doing nothing, and living with the ‘what-ifs’ instead.

By doing something new each and everyday, you’ll not only learn to swallow your fear and pride, but you’ll also be prepared to take a chance during those crucial moments where you have the opportunity to change your life.

1. Break free of your comfort zone.

It’s so easy to get caught up in a routine and become so comfortable with your day to day life that you become bored of life. However, if you think of the moments you felt most alive and happiest, I’d bet they were times you were doing something new or unusual.

We often think that our ‘everyday’ has to be boring, and that those exciting moments only occur on exceptional days, but you can experience that love and thrill of being alive by opening yourself up to trying something new each and every day.

Have you ever intentionally tried to do something new each day? Were you glad you did? Share with us in the comments below.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if birds flew in space, look no further. Thanks to bioastronautics research, we have a video of birds trying to fly in a simulated zero gravity environment on a C-131 aircraft.

In the video, the birds struggle to fly upright, and often flip upside down as well as sideways. Flying in a straight line appears to be impossible as the bird’s natural sense of direction is thrown off.

“These zero-g birds have lost their feeling for up or down, and point in all directions; some even flying upside down.”

If you’ve ever wondered what doggy heaven looks like, this is it.

Three seasons ago, one lifeguard had the genius idea to invite dog owners and their furry companions to the pool before it was drained at the end of the summer. The event is appropriately named The Doggy Paddle, which donates all proceeds to the Calgary Humane Society.

For the past three years, an outdoor pool in Calgary, Alberta CA, has been hosting The Doggy Paddle where dogs are invited to take a refreshing dip after the pool was closed to the public for the season.

“One of the guards said one day ‘Why don’t we do this at the end of the year?’ There’s no more people swimming in the pool. We’re just going to get rid of the water anyway, so it’s a great way to wrap up the summer,” Jennifer Zacharias, a guard at the pool, explained.

After becoming a tetraplegic, or quadriplegic, in a car accident 10 years ago, Jordan Bone, 25, from South Wootton, Norfolk, lost the use of her hands completely. Despite the obvious struggles, Jordan taught herself how to apply her makeup and started filming beauty tutorials.

However, people quickly noticed she never moved her hands and often left ignorant comments including “What’s wrong with her hands?” and “Why is she holding her brush like that?!”

In response to the hurtful comments on her tutorials, Jordan released this moving video called My Beautiful Struggle.

For years, Jordan was depressed and struggled with her weak arms and ‘useless hands’. She never planned on being the girl in a wheelchair and wanted people to see her, not the chair.

Jordan could not dress herself or even do her own hair, so makeup was the only thing she could control that made her feel like herself. “I lost a lot, and I didn’t want to lose my identity too.”

At first, Jordan could barely open her mascara, never mind apply eyeliner.

Her early attempts often left her feeling defeated and hopeless, as she could not apply makeup with the necessary precision.

“Tears would fall. Frustration would drive me crazy. I wouldn’t leave the house because I would drop mascara on my face and down my clothes.”

Yet Jordan persevered, and learned to use her mouth to help open and position tools. She continues to improve her technique each day.

“My hands haven’t been able to move in 10 years, but I’ve taught myself a new way of doing my makeup. So if something is standing in your way, maybe it means trying something a different way. Explore your options. The obvious route may not always be for you.”

5 Ways You Should be Helping a Friend in a Bad Relationship

$

Bad relationships can happen to anyone. Even the strongest, most confident people can fall into the quicksand of an unhealthy relationship, and if this happens to your friend, you’ll want to pull them out as fast as you can.

Unfortunately, they may not be ready for your intervention, and you may do more harm than good by trying to convince them to ditch a partner who doesn’t make your friend feel loved and supported.

Take a look at these 5 tips to help your friend in a bad relationship without hurting your own friendship.

5. Leave the judgment behind.

If your friend is in a bad relationship, it’s not if, but when they’ll get hurt or heartbroken. And when that does eventually happen, your friend will need your love and support instead of your judgement. This is definitely not the time for an “I told you so” speech, so sit back and let them get things off their chest. It may seem like your not doing anything, but you’re letting your friend work through issues, and providing the opportunity to make changes.

There’s a time and a place to gently express your concerns and point out unhealthy patterns, but if your friend feels judged when they just need someone to listen to them, you’ll ending up damaging the relationship and pushing your friend away.

4. Be compassionate.

Remember that we’ve all made mistakes and let love cloud our judgement. You may never be able to understand what your friend feels for their partner, and why they are still together, but there’s a reason your friend fell in love with them in the first place.

There may be underlying issues for why your friend hasn’t moved on already, and you need to provide unwavering support and love to help them work through the situation and grow as a person.

3. Communicate your concerns the right way.

While it may be completely obvious to you that your friend is dating someone who’s not worth their time, they clearly haven’t come to that understanding just yet. And if you don’t communicate your concerns the right way, they possibly never will.

Remember that your friend will be highly sensitive, defensive, and insecure about the topic, so be careful not to exaggerate or bring your own baggage into the conversation. This conversation needs to be completely honest and logical. Point out things you observe and introduce your concerns.

Don’t expect that one conversation will clear everything up, as it may take weeks or even months before your friend starts to understand and recognize your concerns. Be patient, and give them the time to work through their emotions.

2. Remember your friend ultimately needs to make their own mistakes.

Our natural instinct is to protect the ones we love from harm, but we also have to remember we can’t control another person’s life. As long as your friend isn’t in any serious danger, you have to recognize that ultimately it’s their choice to stay in the relationship or end it.

Although it’s easy to tell from the outside when your friend is making a mistake, they need to learn for themselves in order to make the right decisions and avoid repeating their mistakes.

1. Show up.

You may not even notice that your doing this, but it’s natural for you to start spending less time with your friend if you dislike their boyfriend or girlfriend. But if you really care about your friend, you’ll realize that this is not the time to distance yourself.

Depending on how bad the relationship is, you may be the only one to remind your friend that the relationship isn’t healthy, and they’ll need you more than ever if they choose to end things with their partner.

Have you ever had to help a friend in a bad relationship? Let us know if these 5 tips helped the comments below.

After hearing that Bretagne’s 16th birthday was coming up, Bark Box decided to surprise this special dog to thank her for her service and celebrate her big day.

Bark Box and 1 Hotels teamed up to fly Bretagne and her family to New York from Texas on Aug. 22nd to celebrate her birthday (which is actually Aug. 25th) and honor this New York City hero and her mom.

Tattooing Overdrawn Lips is Now Apparently the ‘Thing’

Beauty trends are always changing, which is exactly why permanently tattooing any type of ‘makeup’ on your face is so terrifying (hello, ugly lip-liner tattoos circa the ’90s). For a while, any form of permanent makeup has been a beauty no-no, but it seems that overdrawn lip tattoos that help achieve the coveted pouty look are in. And hopefully for the people who get them, this trend is here to stay.

The treatment, which is used as an alternative to fillers and surgery, is done by cosmetic tattoo experts and costs upwards of $1000. The tattoo lasts 8-10 years, and requires touch-ups every 3-5 years depending on the person. These touch-up treatments usually cost about $350.

The process starts with numbing the lips, and then a consultation with an artist to draw out exactly what your new lips will look like after the actual tattoo. Then color options are discussed, which can include three different colors to add dimension and the illusion of a fuller pout. Typically a deeper color is chosen for the outline, then a softer pigment is used towards the center of the mouth, and then almost no color is used at the very center. Finally, the tattooing process begins, which lasts about 40 minutes from start to finish.

Take a look at these permanent overdrawn lips to get a better sense of the results, which are surprisingly more natural looking than you would imagine.

The video was posted by Jonna Jinton, the dog’s owner, who lives in a small Swedish village in Vasternorrland. Although her adorable pooch showed incredible restraint, there were a few moments where it came dangerously close to chowing down.

Immediately after Jonna gave orders not to eat the food on the table, the dog hysterically tries to distract itself by peering out the window. However, the distraction is short-lived, and just a few seconds later the pooch is staring longingly at the plate.

Jonna may have said her dog couldn’t eat the mouth-watering treats, but she never said not to look at them!

Jonna later returned to the house, and rewarded her disciplined dog for resisting the urge to eat the cookies.

The Shocking Effects a Can of Coke Has in Just One Hour

Everyone knows that Coca Cola and sugar-filled drinks aren’t doing their waistline any favors, but we often convince ourselves that just one can’t hurt. Well thanks to Niraj Naik, a UK pharmacist who runs The Renegade Pharmacist blog, we can see exactly how quickly the potent soft-drink affects our bodies.

Accoding to Naik, regularly consuming the drink, which stimulates the brain the same way as heroin, can lead to higher blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

Take a look at what happens one hour after drinking a can of Coke:

“1. In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid and other flavorings cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.

2. 20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)

3. 40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness.

4. 45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.

5. >60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.

6. >60 Minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.

7. >60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.

And if you think that reaching for a Diet Coke would be a healthier choice, think again. Diet Coke is full of chemicals, is highly addictive, and like regular Coke, makes insulin levels skyrocket. Take a look at what happens to the body in the 60 minutes after drinking just one can of Diet Coke:

“First 10 Minutes – Tricks Your Taste Buds And Attacks Your Teeth

The phosphoric acid attacks the enamel in your teeth, while the artificial sweeteners like aspartame hit your system. Aspartame may trigger taste receptors and trick your body into thinking it has just processed sugar.

20 Minutes –  May Switch On Fat Storage Mode

Like regular Coke this can trigger insulin, which sends your body into fat storage mode.

40 Minutes – Can Cause Addiction

The potentially deadly combination of caffeine and aspartame creates a short addictive high similar in the way cocaine works. Excitotoxins are released which may exhaust your brain by overstimulating it’s neuroreceptors, especially if consumed on a regular basis.

60 Minutes – Depletes Nutrients, Makes You Hungry & Thirsty For More

Unlike the small amount of satisfaction you get from regular coke your body may still crave sweets. This makes you likely to reach for another soda, or worse, some other junk food you consider to be safe and the cycle continues.

A can of diet coke provides no nourishment and would replace a more nutritious drink you could have drunk while potentially depleting your body of essential minerals

It will never quench your thirst as it dehydrates rather than hydrates your body. A lack of vital water can lead to brain fog, poor concentration, fatigue and feeling irritable.

Everyone can agree that cancer sucks, and dogs are awesome. So what do you get when you record a dog receiving a negative cancer test result? Basically the best video ever.

The video shows an adorable Golden Retriever named Lily receiving a benign Hemangiosarcoma result, which is a rapidly growing, invasive form of cancer that occurs almost exclusively in dogs.

According to Lily’s owners, the vet told them that more than half of Golden Retievers die from this form of cancer. “There was only a 10% chance that it was the benign kind, and they said in 20 years it’s never happened. But we didn’t want to give up. We emptied our savings account and did the surgery,” Youtube user Mrs Makai said. Doctors removed the six pound tumor, and a week later they got the results.

Watch the entire video to see this golden retriever struggle to contain its excitement.

Even though every other person in your life teases you for your affliction, being an arachnophobe makes even the most simple things like walking in a room difficult.

They also think that your very real fear is you being dramatic, and will even suggest you simply decide to not let it scare you. If that was possible, don’t you think we would have done that years ago? Trust us, we don’t like that  we’re so afraid of these creatures because if you’re an arachnophobe, the struggle is real.

Take a look at the top ten biggest struggles of being an arachnophobe:

10. Having to completely strip the sheets when you find one in bed.

9. When you need to stair at a spider to make sure it doesn’t get away despite being terrified at the mere sight of one.

The only thing worse than looking at a spider, is having it disappear before you can get someone to get rid of it.

8. You can never comfortably sit on grass.

6. Browsing the Internet and mistakenly opening a picture or video of the vile creature.

And then having to build up the courage to close the tab.

5. You will never trust a person who had a pet tarantula (or any other kind of spider, for that matter).
