Parents just want what’s best for their child, and what will keep them safe, however, many parents disagree about how exactly to keep their small children safe.

At some point, almost all parents are faced with the decision to vaccinate their children, and for many, it can be terrifying to inject your child with vaccines that have been associated with so much controversy. However, one Australian mother is now sharing photos of her sick baby to warn others how dangerous some diseases can be for babies, and urges parents to protect their kids with vaccines.

“Our poor baby boy who is too young to be immunised has caught the chicken pox… It has almost been a week since they showed up… Today he was admitted to Ipswich Hospital with a secondary infection,” mom Kayley Burke wrote in a post to Facebook, which has now gone viral.

While we tend to think the chicken pox is more of an inconvenience rather than an actual threat, Burke points out that these diseases can wreak havoc on young babies with undeveloped immune systems.

“Bottom line if you don’t vaccinate your kids your a bloody idiot… Think about the risk you are putting on other helpless kids that are too young or who actually can’t be vaccinated!”

While first-time expecting moms are always afraid a monster or alien is going to show up when they go in for ultrasounds, one couple was truly shocked when they saw this in their baby’s ultrasound photo.

One expecting wife and husband went in for their routine check up appointment with the doctor to get an ultrasound of their baby at 24 weeks along, however, instead of seeing a baby inside mom’s tummy, they saw what appeared to be a sports car on the screen.

Ultrasounds are never the clearest images, however, at 24 weeks along parents can normally see their unborn child quite clearly, and their baby’s nose, lips, chin, and ears can be clearly distinguished.

Rather than finding a baby, the couple could only make out what appeared to be a car, however, it turns out their baby is still perfectly healthy.

While it seems strange, apparently weird ultrasound images pop up all the time because of odd angles and low resolution on the screen.

Expecting Parents Are Shocked By Baby’s Picture In Ultrasound is an article from: LifeDaily

It’s unfortunately relatively normal for animal rescuers to find helpless animals in dire situations, but even these rescuers were shocked when they arrived at the scene at what they thought was a simple job.

When Newport Beach Animal Control supervisor Valerie Schomburg got a call on May 12th that there was an abandoned Golden Retriever on the beach, she figured it would be a routine rescue. However, when she got to the scene she first thought the abandoned dog was heavily pregnant.

As she got closer, however, she realized the retriever was not pregnant, but was actually a male with a 46-pound tumor protruding from his side. “We got a call that there was a dog that was dumped on the beach. So when we went,  we got him, and we went, ‘oh my gosh,’” Schomburg said of the dog named Henry.

The tumor was pushing up against Henry’s front right leg and made it impossible for him to get around. “Most vets that we’ve asked, and have been involved in his story, have never seen it that big,” Schomburg said of the tumor.

To help Henry, who they believe is about 8-years-old, Schomburg and her team finally found a vet who agreed to remove the oversized tumor, and raised money for the surgery, which ended up costing thousands of dollars. “He has too much love, and life to live, that we wanted to give him a chance,” she said.

“Just very shocking that it got that big, and that someone wouldn’t do the right thing,” said Schomburg. “Whoever did this to Henry might have to answer for it.”

Rescuers Free Abandoned Dog From 46-Pound Tumor is an article from: LifeDaily

While it seems most people today have no problem with a mother breastfeeding in public, there are still plenty of people who think breastfeeding is a repulsive act that should remain behind closed doors.

Jessie Maher, a Connecticut mother, had never been given a hard time while breastfeeding her 4-week-old baby, however, while sitting in the dining area in her local Target, she was left shaking in fear after a man began verbally assaulting her for breastfeeding her child by calling Maher ‘disgusting’ and a ‘whore,’ she said.

Maher tried to defend herself by pointing out that she had every right to breastfeed her baby in a public space, and then describes the terrifying moment he responds by saying “You are f***ing disgusting…you are f***ing disgusting…you are f***ing disgusting…you whore,” as he walked closer to her.

Maher took her phone out and began filming the attack, but thankfully the staff and shoppers stood up and defended her against the aggressive man. “It’s okay. You shouldn’t be ashamed at feeding your baby. If he doesn’t like it he can go,” one shopper said in the video.

“Everyone ran to my aid. They were there just to help us and it was awesome. We need people like this,” Maher said. “I choose not to cover up because I am not ashamed of what my breasts are intended for. I stand with all mamas breastfeeding, bottle feeding, covered or not. It is hard enough being a mother, period. We need to build new mothers up not tear them down.”

Mom Shares Footage Of Man Attacking Her For Breastfeeding In Public is an article from: LifeDaily

Coming home from the hospital with a newborn baby is overwhelming even for parents who’ve had nine months to prepare, so when one nurse suddenly gained custody of her weeks-old granddaughter, she was understandably overwhelmed.

Sara Putnam was completely unprepared when she suddenly was granted custody of her newborn granddaughter Isabella, and was running around in between her long nursing shifts to find food, clothing, and other baby supplies that she needed if she were going to raise a new baby.

Putnam was rummaging through a box of donated baby clothes in the break room of the Henrico Doctor’s Hospital when fellow nurse Pam Medina found her, and once she learned of the situation, she promised to help. “I told her to stop that and that I would find what she needed,” Medina said.

Medina sprung to action and reached out to a variety of Facebook where she explained Putnam’s situation. “I explained her sudden need and that she was a hard-working woman. The response was overwhelming,” Medina said as she received an overwhelming amount of donations from strangers.

Medina drove to the hospital with a car full of baby supplies to surprise Putnam. “I told her I found her a stroller and she needed to come to the car to get it,” Medina said. When Putnam saw the inside of the car, she instantly broke down in tears. “Oh my God! What have you done? Thank you everybody!”

“I just sobbed. I just cried,” Medina said. “I am still overwhelmed by the response of folks who did not know me and did not know her. It makes me get really emotional now. It’s not me. It’s the people who responded.”

Strangers Donate Baby Supplies To Nurse Who Got Custody Of Granddaughter is an article from: LifeDaily

All too often we see news reports of cops reaching for their guns when threatened by dangerous looking dogs who are often just scared and anxious.

After responding to a call about two vicious dogs on the loose in a residential neighborhood, Meridian police officer David Gomez found the two animals wandering freely on the street, and as soon as he got out of the car, they charged at him as they barked and snarled.

Gomez took out his baton and pepper spray to prepare for an attack, as they approach, but he stays incredibly calm, even as one dog starts foaming at the mouth.

Gomez calls for animal control, but when he hears they won’t be at the scene for another 15 minutes, he knows he has to find a solution before he, the animals, or a bystander gets hurt.

Gomez opens the back door of his cop car and asks the two dogs if they wanted to go for a ride. Rather than resort to violence or force, Gomez keeps his tone calm and happy as he calls for the dogs, and incredibly, they climb straight into his backseat.

We’ve all been warned of the dangers and consequences of driving while intoxicated, so this dad came up with the perfect solution that would keep him and everyone on the road safe.

Traffic practically stopped when one UK dad was seen crossing the street on a seat that was being towed by his tiny son in a red electric convertible car in the center of Bognor Regis on a Sunday afternoon. One witness was so stunned that he whipped his phone out and started filming the scene, and guessed that dad probably had too much to drink and called upon his designated driver to get home safely.

“I was having a pint in my social club and popped out to have a cigarette. I looked across the road and saw this little chap driving his dad home,” Wayne Nuttall said. “The dad was on a trailer at the back of the car and was being towed by his son. I thought it was a really comical moment.”

However, people were quick to criticize dad for being irresponsible and endangering his son, but Nuttall later found out that the dad had converted a mobility scooter for a carnival procession the day before, and was actually in complete control thanks to a handheld remote.

Little Boy ‘Drives’ Dad Home From Pub is an article from: LifeDaily

When human moms are expecting a baby, doctors use an ultrasound machine to check the baby’s growth and look for any abnormalities, and it seems veterinarians do the exact same thing for expecting orangutan moms.

Recently, the zoo workers at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Washington D.C. noticed one of their Bornean orangutans was having a hard time waking up in the morning, was having drastic mood swings, and her appetite was bigger than normal, and decided to call a vet to check and make sure everything was ok.

19-year-old Batang had been off birth control for nearly two years but was never able to get pregnant, so the staff never thought she could be pregnant, but when the vet gave Batang a pregnancy test, it came back positive.

In order to reveal their exciting news, the zoo staff posted a live video to their Facebook account showing a veterinarian giving Batang a sonogram, and was actually able to see the baby, who is due in September.

Vet Finds A Baby Inside Orangutan During Ultrasound is an article from: LifeDaily

Having a child go missing is just about every parent’s worst nightmare, which is why police promised they would do everything in their power to find mom’s 15-day-old baby when she frantically reported him missing.

The mother, whose name has not been released by police, had been hanging out with some friends on Tuesday night was desperate for a night out away from her baby boy named Jay Aden Rice-Meyer who had been born just over two weeks before.

Mom asked friend Kevin Branam to babysit her newborn so she could continue to party and drink. “She said, ‘I want to stay here a day or two, would you please take care of my car and my baby? You know, take it with you, take it home and just watch my car and my baby’ and I said ‘Sure,'” 26-year-old Branam said.

However, when mom woke up the next morning, she had no recollection of anything from the night before, and was frantic when she realized her baby was missing. Police quickly got to work to rescue the infant, and eventually found their way to Branam’s home.

When the cops burst into his home, however, they were stunned to see the baby was perfectly safe and being well looked after. “Apparently, she had too many drinks last night and forgot all about the situation,” Branam said.

“The baby’s fine. [I] took good care of it. I bought some clothes, fed it some formula, put it to bed, washed it. Did the whole nine. Did the whole dad thing, you know. I’ve always wanted to be a dad, so I got to be one for at least a couple hours.”

Branam’s name was immediately cleared, but now police may charge mom with abuse or neglect for her irresponsible actions.

When you think of soldiers and veterans, most people typically think of tough, muscular men, but one Navy veteran is reminding everyone that men are not the only people who bravely serve our country.

Rebecca Landis Hayes comes from a family full of service members, and like her father, uncle, and grandfather, she decided to serve her country by joining the Navy. Hayes has since retired after serving in the Navy for 8 years, which is why she thought it would be fine if she parked in a ‘veterans only‘ spot while stopping quickly at the grocery store.

When Hayes returned to her car just a few minutes later, however, she found a nasty note on her windshield that read: “This parking is for Veterans, lady. Learn to read & have some respect.”

“I know I parked in one of the Veteran Parking spaces today, it was hot,” Hayes wrote in a post to Facebook, which has gone viral. “I had been in and out of my car several times already this afternoon, and I was only going to be a minute. Besides, the parking lot was full, so I just did it. It was the first time, and I won’t do it again. I’m sorry…”

“I’m sorry that you can’t see my eight years of service in the United Sates Navy,” she wrote. “I’m sorry that your narrow misogynistic world view can’t conceive of the fact that there are female Veterans. I’m sorry that I have to explain myself to people like you.”

“Mostly, I’m sorry that we didn’t get a chance to have this conversation face to face, and that you didn’t have the integrity and intestinal fortitude to identify yourself, qualities the military emphasizes.”

“My disappointment was that I still had to defend or explain myself as a female veteran, that my husband who is an Army vet parks in the spaces all the time and never has ever had a problem, and that on the one occasion I decided to park there, I was harassed about it,” Hayes said.

Female Navy Veteran Gets Nasty Note For Using ‘Veteran Only’ Parking Spot is an article from: LifeDaily

If you’ve ever driven in a wooded area and seen a deer jump out from the side of the road, you’ll know how quickly they appear out of nowhere, and how little time you have to swerve out of the way.

While driving through British Columbia on their way to a fishing trip, Sean Steele and his wife saw a deer jump out in front of the car they had been driving behind. With virtually no time to avoid the animal, the car struck the deer and sent it flying to the side of the road.

Steele pulled over right away, got his knife out, and prepared to put the dying deer out of its misery, yet when he stepped closer he saw a baby peeking out of a small tear in the mother’s belly. “She wasn’t feeling very good and was kind of cut open, and that’s when I seen the leg of the fawn,” Steele said.

Steele just followed his instincts in that moment, and seconds later he was using his knife to perform an emergency c-section on the dying deer to save the unharmed baby.

Steele then wiped the baby down with his sweater, cleared its throat of mucous with his fingers, and sprinkled grass on the baby’s nose to get it to sneeze and clear out any other mucous that might block its airways.

“Yeah, it was pretty much instinct and curiosity; see what’s in there,” Steele said of the moment he found the baby, who is now safely being cared for at the Northern Lights Wildlife Society, and is set to be released into the wild by fall.

Man Performs C-Section On A Pregnant Deer After She’s Hit By A Car is an article from: LifeDaily

The weeks-old baby girl was born on May 12th to protective a mom, and to celebrate her turning 1-month-old, the staff decided to let her celebrate by having a bath, which adorably turned into play time once she got her tiny feet wet.

At first, the staff set up a blow-up baby pool so that she could ease into this new experience, but they realized it wouldn’t be long until she’s swimming with the adults when she starts playfully thrashes around in the shallow water.

While the baby looks tiny companred to the adults, she already weighs nearly 425 pounds and quickly destroyed her kiddie pool. She refused to end her birthday celebrations, however, and got mom to take her into the adult pool, and loved every second of it.

One-Month-Old Baby Elephant Gets His First Bath is an article from: LifeDaily

Dad figured his kids wouldn’t be able to resist the fun of a car safari where they could see real wild animals up close, and it actually seemed to be going pretty well as the tour began. However, he quickly came to regret his decision when an animal encounter was a little too close for comfort.

While driving through the car safari, dad was thrilled that he had finally found something that got his kids attention, but as he began loading up his camera to take some pictures of the unforgettable experience, he was stunned when his kids suddenly began screaming.

When dad turned around, he spotted a huge American black bear standing on its hind legs right outside the car door, and seconds later, the bear started opening the car door. Thankfully, dad managed to wrestle the door free from the bear’s giant paw and close the door.

Pregnant moms will do just about anything to get their waters to break as their due dates approach, and they often have to get creative when going for long walks, eating spicy foods, or dancing fails to get things moving.

One Fruitport, Michigan mom was so desperate to meet her baby that she decided to take matters into her own hands as the final 24 hours before her due date approached. 23-year-old Chelsea Wine has been hula hooping for years, and even did it throughout her pregnancy for light exercise, but she thought it would be the perfect way to stir things up and let her baby know it was time to come out.

“I’ve been hula hooping for about five years now for fun and fitness. It has helped me keep fit while pregnant without too much stress,” Wine said. But because her belly was so big, normal hula hooping techniques wouldn’t work anymore, so she swung the hula hoop vertically around her belly.

“I’ve been waiting for my belly to get this big so I could be able to do this. It has only recently been possible so I was excited to film it,” Wine said.

Despite her best efforts, mom’s stubborn baby decided to stay put as the June 7th due date came and passed.

Heavily Pregnant Mom Tries Just About Anything To Go Into Labor is an article from: LifeDaily

When a nasty storm arrives, most people have the luxury of taking shelter indoors to wait it out, but most animals have to quickly try and find a temporary shelter.

In an attempt to stay dry from the torrential rain during a bad storm in Dublin, Ohio, one raccoon thought he had found the perfect spot to wait out the bad weather in the sewer, but quickly learned it was the worst place he could have chosen as the rain water came flooding in from the storm drains.

The terrified raccoon managed to climb up to the grate, but was too big to squeeze through, but had no choice but to hang there for potentially hours as he’d drown in the rapid waters rushing by beneath him.

Luckily, members of the Dublin Recreation Center heard the little raccoon’s terrified screams, and called the city to come and rescue him.

The city worker arrived minutes later, and made sure no cars would run over his tiny paws that were sticking through the grate before finally lifting the grate up and helping return him to his natural habitat.

Hero Saves Raccoon Seconds Away From Drowning In A Storm Drain is an article from: LifeDaily

Fishermen go out on the water hoping to find some animals swimming in the water, but when a group of fishermen spotted this animal swimming six miles off shore, they knew something wasn’t right.

Rob Kurdy was out on the boat with his friends on the Long Island Sound one afternoon when they spotted something bobbing in the water from a distance. As they got closer, however, they realized the animal wasn’t a fish or shark, but was actually a deer.

The deer was clearly struggling in the 58-degree water, and they knew there was no way the animal would make it back to shore, nevermind a few more minutes. “You could see it shivering. It’s barely staying afloat,” Kurdy said. “It’s kind of just going in circles.”

The group decided to forget about their fishing trip, and got to work saving the drowning animal. “He actually got a piece of rope and was able to stick the rope around the antlers real gently and corral the deer towards the boat,” Kurdy said. “We used one of the boat cleats to tie it to him and make sure he was comfortable and we weren’t pulling on him too hard.”

The group towed the animal as gently as possible to land, but the boat couldn’t get close enough to shore so Kurdy put a lifejacket on, jumped in the water, and swam the deer the rest of the way to shore.

“It’s a life, and I’m not going to let him drown,” Kurdy said. “He was out in the middle of nowhere shivering and freezing, so we all said we just can’t let it drown. It was just the right thing to do.”

They immediately wrapped the shivering deer in towels and blankets, and after a few hours, the animal warmed up enough and walked off on his own.

Fishermen Rescue Drowning Dear 6 Miles Off Shore is an article from: LifeDaily

We’ve all been guilty of averting our gaze, crossing the street, or even distracting ourselves on the phone when walking by a homeless person, but one social experiment decided if that would still be true if that homeless person was an expecting mom.

As part of a social experiment, Youtuber RobbyTv asked his friend to put on a fake pregnancy suit and sit on the sidewalk of a busy city street with a sign to test and see if anyone would help the ‘expecting mom’ and if she would get more sympathy than homeless people normally do.

The young woman looked to be about 20 years old, and held up a sign that read: ‘Pregnant and homeless anything helps!’ yet not a single man or woman stopped to even give her some spare change while she sat on the concrete for over two hours.

The girl was about to give up on the project since no one even looked her in the eye the entire time she was on the ground, however, one woman finally stopped, knelt down, and offered money for food. The stranger explained that years ago, she had been in the exact same position and that she’d would get help for the soon-to-be mom.

Moments later, however, RobbyTv approached the two talking women and explained it was all a social experiment as he pointed to the camera, and thanked the woman for her good deed.

Woman Pretends To Be Homeless And Pregnant To Test Strangers’ Reactions is an article from: LifeDaily

One of the most heartbreaking parts of being a parent to a child struggling with a disease or disorder is not being able to make everything better or even alleviate some of the pain.

For years, Kentucky mother Rita Wooton watched her son struggle with debilitating seizures, which were caused by his rare form of epilepsy. Wooton would have done just about anything to help her 6-year-old son, Eli, after traditional pharmaceutical drugs and therapy failed to help.

“I was trying to be the nurse and the doctor and treat at home, but there was nothing we could do. We were helpless,” Wooton said. But when the state of Kentucky finally passed a law legalizing the use of cannabis oil to treat kids like her son, she jumped at the chance to give Eli the controversial drug.

Eli started using cannabis oil last July, and now he hasn’t had a seizure in months and is reaching milestones that never would have been possible for him like speaking and graduating from kindergarten.

“I would love to take a football field of folks that are non-believers or who are against it, to show them, ‘hey, this has worked for us,'” Wooton said. “After six years of having a child or a baby that couldn’t tell us anything, we are finally getting to meet him. I mean, we know our son now.”

While people often try to negate the effectiveness of the drug because of its recreational use, Wooton is speaking out to challenge the drug’s stereotypes, as it has not only stopped his seizures but allowed him to cut back on his anti-seizure pharmaceutical drugs.

37-year Anne-Marie Faiola was on her way home when she got a frantic call from her babysitter saying she heard ticking and a loud bang sound before smoke started pouring out of all the air vents in the home. Moments before, the babysitter had left mom’s 4-year-old son Jamisen to play in the family home’s playroom yet he miraculously walked out of the room minutes before the explosion.

The Washington mom rushed home, and found her two kids, husband, and babysitter all unharmed after evacuating the home, but was stunned when she watched the baby monitor footage and saw how lucky they were that Jamisen walked out of the room before the explosion.

Firefighters came to the scene and explained that the boiler, which was right next to the playroom, had exploded because the gas levels in the home were too high, and if anyone had tried to cook anything, the entire house would have been leveled.

“Thankfully, instead of blowing up like a rocket ship, the force of the blast took it sideways into our storage area, and not directly up into Lily’s crib – her room is directly above the boiler,” Faiola wrote on her blog.

“We’re focusing on that and the feelings of thankfulness, and how lucky we are, rather than the dull monotony of all the next steps. We are safe. Our house can be fixed,” Faiola said and is warning everyone to get their boilers checked regularly.

Dad’s will do just about anything their little girls ask them to do no matter how ridiculous, but one amazing dad deserves an award for not just doing what his daughter asked, but for going above and beyond her request.

When nine-year-old Joselyn told her trucker dad, Trent McCain that her favorite doll “Abbie” really wanted to go  trucking with him and asked that he let her go along and babysit her, he had no choice but to say yes. “This morning before I leave, she reminds me I’m babysitting today. Well being the good “Grandpa” I agree to take her,” McCain wrote in a post to his company’s Facebook page.

Rather than just throw Abbie in the truck and get on with his day, McCain decided to take the doll on an adventure and document their day. “We decided to have a little fun and post pictures of our travels. I didn’t want Joselyn thinking I threw Abbie in the sleeper and forgot about her,” McCain wrote.

“The look on my father’s face was priceless when I climbed out of the semi with Abbie that morning. I told him ‘your granddaughter asked me to babysit’ I decided for fun to take a picture with my father and Abbie to show Joselyn that we were actually babysitting as she asked,” McCain said.

During their fun-filled adventure, Abbie helped load wheat into the truck, got to match her outfit with grandpa’s truck, and even ate a piece of beef jerky and Coca-Cola for lunch.
