Mothers might not seem like the toughest bunch, but they’ve been known to have some superhuman reactions when someone or something threatens to harm their babies.

One Aspen, Colorado mother had let her two little boys play outside on a beautiful afternoon, but wasn’t worried as she was only a few feet away inside the house taking care of some chores. However, her heart dropped when she heard her oldest son’s screams from outside.

He immediately came bursting inside, and told his mom that his 5-year-old brother was getting attacked by a fox. Yet, when she ran outside, she saw a vicious mountain lion standing over her little boy.

Mom got a burst of adrenaline, and didn’t hesitate to pull the lion’s paw off her son, reach into the lion’s mouth, and pry his head free.

She rushed her little boy to the hospital rather than wait for police, and while the 5-year-old still had injuries to his head, neck, and face, they could have been much worse if mom hadn’t stepped in. “She was able to pry the cat’s jaws open,” Deputy Michael Buglione said. “She’s a hero.”

While driving along a dark, windy road one night, police officer Chris Williams slowed to a stop when he saw a mother and father raccoon usher their tiny babies safely across the road, however, when they got to the other side, they were faced with climbing over a steep road barrier.

Mom, dad, and most of the babies had no trouble gripping to the wall and pulling their bodies over the top, but when mom turned around before continuing on the journey, she realized one baby was trapped at the bottom.

Dad doesn’t look too concerned, but mom hesitates for a minute while trying to quickly think of a solution, and seconds later she enlists dad’s help and puts her plan into action.

Rather than just abandon her baby, mom got dad to hold her feet while she dangled over the edge of the wall. She grabbed ahold of her baby’s neck scruff and pulled him safely up and over the top.

While we like to complain about the unbearably hot temperatures as the summer heat hits its peak, we at least get to escape the heat indoors thanks to air conditioning.

Many wild animals, however, don’t have the luxury of cooling down whenever they feel like it, and often have to come up with clever ways to beat the heat. When temperatures reached nearly 120 degrees in the Palm Springs area in Southern California, Marilyn Di Filippo thought it might be the perfect time to cool off in her swimming pool.

However, she started hearing some splashing a few minutes later from the pool and when she looked out, she realized a wild bear had already beat her to it.

The clever bear found the perfect spot to cool off, and even had fun chewing on the purple pool noodle as it adorable thrashed around in the water.

“He continued to play around for about 20 minutes. We watched him play with the different rafts, and my baby’s pool toys,” daughter Shannon Lievense said.

While many kids try their hardest to get out of having to go to their high school graduation, one Pennsylvania teen was crushed when he woke up and realized he had missed the ceremony.

On May 22, three days before graduation, East Juniata High School senior Scott Dunn was all set to get his diploma and walk across the graduation stage in front of his friends and family, however, that was all taken away from him when he got in a serious car accident that day.

Dunn was rushed to the hospital, and placed in a medically induced coma and didn’t wake up until a week later. And when he realized the date, he was crushed that he missed his graduation.

However, when the school’s principal got word that Dunn had woken up, and was being released from the hospital, he came up with the perfect plan.

With the help of the graduating class, the school recreated the graduation down to a T for Dunn. “Oh goodness, all the students were all excited and in their graduation gowns and caps again,” principal Benjamin Fausey said. “There was so much positive energy.”

And when Dunn got to walk across the stage and was handed his diploma, the entire class exploded in cheers and clapping. “I don’t know how to even explain it,” Dunn said. “I’m speechless to know that this many people are behind me.”

High School Recreates Graduation For Boy Who Was In A Coma is an article from: LifeDaily

Firemen and first responders are used to being called into frantic situations with only seconds to react and form a plan. After all, it os part of the job.

Normally, however, they have an array of tools to help them perform dangerous rescues, yet when firemen arrived at the scene at a park in Nottingham on Sunday morning, nothing could help them get to a Husky puppy who had fallen off a tall wall into a lake and had no way of getting out.

“The owner was in a panic because the dog was in the water. From her point of view it was very distressing because the dog is only five months old,” crew manager Carl Wiggan, from Central Fire Station, said.

By the time the firemen arrived at the scene, the dog had been treading water for over 20 minutes and was clearly exhausted.

The firemen knew they had to get to the dog quickly before it drowned, and did the first thing they could think of. With the help of a passerby, they formed a human chain and dangled one fireman over the wall’s edge. The exhausted dog swam towards the men, and they were able to lift him out by his collar.

“I was actually walking through the same area with my wife last Friday and saw a dog’s body floating down, so it just shows how it could have had a less happy ending,” said Terry Draper, the retired photographer who captured the rescue on camera.

There’s no denying that the world kids are growing up in today is vastly different than it was for their parents, however, one mother was truly stunned when she found her daughter standing on the toilet.

At first, mom Stacey Wehrman Feeley started laughing when she caught her 3-year-old daughter standing on top of the toilet, and even thought to snap a picture to let her husband in on the funny moment. However, when she asked what her adorable daughter was doing, she wanted to cry instead of laugh.

“The moment she told me what she was doing I broke down. She was practicing for a lockdown drill at her preschool and what you should do if you are stuck in a bathroom. At that moment all innocence of what I thought my three-year-old possessed was gone,” Feeley wrote in a Facebook post, which has now gone viral.

“Politicians – take a look,” the outraged mom wrote. “This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions. They are barely 3 and they will hide in bathroom stalls standing on top of toilet seats. I do not know what will be harder for them? Trying to remain quiet for an extended amount of time or trying to keep their balance without letting a foot slip below the stall door?”

School shootings have become a very real threat to schools around the country, but Feeley decided to share her daughter’s disturbing reality to show why the situation needs to change. “I am not pretending to have all the answers or even a shred of them,” she wrote, “but unless you want your children standing on top of a toilet, we need to do something!”

The sunscreens on the list, many of which are probably lurking in your beach bag, contain potentially toxic chemicals like oxybenzone, which disrupts the hormone system, retinyl palmitate, which actually triggers skin damage in sunlight, and high SPFs that don’t actually offer any more protection than SPF 30-50. Two of the sunscreens on the list are spray formulations, which the EWG also warns parents against since they don’t cover skin well and can be easily inhaled.

After receiving all the backlash, however, other moms have come out in support of Beckham and have begun posting photos of themselves pecking their kids on the lips since kissing is a normal sign of affection.

They quickly run away from the man, which is when Ortega and his roommate decided to see what was going on. “We approach him and tell him to leave. He claims he’s just looking for a shelter so we tell him where to find resources,” Ortega explained, however, their instinct told them something was wrong, so they decided to follow him.

“He walks down the street and approaches a mom and her two children. He meets and greets them, shakes their hands and as they are walking away, he brushes his hand across the boys’ shoulders. They walk away. He then follows them to the park and as one of the boys is on the jungle gym, he approaches the boy and rubs from his toe to his thigh,” Ortega wrote in a Facebook post.

At that moment, Ortega knew the man was trouble so ran up and caught the creep and held him down until the police came, who then explained to Ortega that the man he caught was actually an attempted murder suspect that police had been searching for.

“The man was taking a massive risk because the door to our back office is there as well,” said staff member Adam Keys. “For two people to gang up like that is pretty horrible, but then to use your child as a human shield is really despicable.”

If you’ve ever been to a birthday party as a kid or thrown a party for a bunch of kids, you’ll know the menu usually includes a ton of tasty candies and treats, but now one mom is suing the hosts of the party for what they decided to include on the party menu.

Three months ago, Iris Estabrooks dropped her 11-year-old daughter Azriel at a friend’s birthday party, but an hour later she frantically rushed back after the birthday girl’s parents called her saying that Azriel had been found ‘passed out.’

Estabrooks got back to the party before even the ambulance arrived, but no one could tell her why her healthy 11-year-old was unconscious. When the ambulance finally arrived, paramedics found a marshmallow was stuck in the girl’s throat, which caused her to choke.

Azriel was rushed to the hospital but tragically passed away five days later, and now her parents are suing the party hosts who they claim “failed to… carefully review food choices to assure that nothing dangerous would be available to the young children, specifically, but not limited to, marshmallows.” The parents are also accusing the party hosts of failing to “have an adult present who was trained or skilled in clearing the airway of a choking child,” as well as failing to “specifically plan and carry out a protocol that would assure that no young child could wander off without being noticed.”

“When a healthy, normal child goes to a birthday party and ends up choking to death, questions of supervision and response to the emergency naturally arise,” said Stephen P. Sabra, the parents’ attorney. He also said the case was a reminder of how careful parents and caretakers need to be when watching other people’s children.

After a long night being kept up by their infant daughter, Clint Edwards thought his wife Mel, who was a full-time mom of three AND a student, should show him a little more gratitude for getting up and staying up with her in the middle of the night despite having to go to work in the morning.

“I was chatting with my wife about the long night we’d had getting up with the baby, when I said, ‘At least I get up with her. A lot of men don’t. You should be grateful.’ I was tired. And I said it like she was really lucky to have me. Like I was going above and beyond as a father.”

After listening calmly to her husband, Mel paused as she held baby Aspen in her arms, and moments later whispered back “I wish you would stop saying that… It doesn’t make me feel like we’re in a partnership. It makes me feel like you want me to kiss your butt every time you get up in the night. This is your baby, too.”

Clint was speechless, and before he said something hurtful or something he didn’t really mean, he left for work. “I drove to work angry,” he explained. “I was 20 minutes into my 30-minute commute when I thought about the last time I had washed dishes. I’d assumed that I should be getting praise or a reward, and for the first time I asked myself, Why? I ate there, too.”

“Then I thought about vacuuming the carpet, or doing the laundry, realized I had the same expectations about those chores, and suddenly I felt like a jerk. The understanding that Mel was responsible for home and child care was so deeply ingrained in my understanding of family and contribution that I’d placed myself on a pedestal for doing something as simple as helping my wife with our baby in the night,” Clent went on to explain.

Dad Thinks Mom Should Be ‘Grateful’ He Checks The Baby At Night is an article from: LifeDaily

Since doctors take an oath to care for their patients to the best of their ability, many parents don’t question the experts or feel the need to get a second opinion when it comes to their child’s health.

However, now one mom is urging parents to always do their research even when bringing your child in for a minor treatment after a ‘routine procedure’ at the dentist killed her 14-month-old baby girl. Texas mom Betty Squier had brought baby Daisy Lynn Torres in to the dentist for what they explained would be a quick and easy dental crown procedure, which is why she never eve questioned what was about to happen.

About halfway through the procedure, Daisy stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest. Squier rushed back to the office as soon as she heard what happened, but couldn’t comprehend what was going on. “When EMS came, they told me to give her a kiss bye before they put her in the ambulance,” Squier said of the moment she knew her daughter wasn’t going to wake up.

Within a few hours after making it to the hospital, Squier was given the devastating news that her baby had passed away, and the autopsy then confirmed that the anesthesia, which had been administered by a board certified anesthesiologist, was responsible for her death.

“I talked with the anesthesiologist before he put her under,” Squier said. “He was telling me how beautiful my baby was and how the procedure would be very quick and that I would be able to see her soon. My last words to her were, ‘I’ll be back for you soon,’ but Daisy was the one who never came back to me.”

“If I could have done something different for Daisy Lynn, and if I could give any parents advice, I would tell them to do more research on your dentist and your anesthesiologist and to get as many second opinions as you possibly can,” Squier said.

The keepers noticed mom looked a little uncomfortable one afternoon, and they soon realized she had gone into labor. After about five hours of contractions, the team noticed a rush of fluid, and then quickly after a newborn male cub was born.

The team was thrilled at the zoo’s newest addition, but then one keeper noticed the baby had yet to take a breath. Despite never being a mother before, the tiger’s maternal instincts kick in and she begins licking the cub around the face, which luckily brings the baby boy to life.

The team finally relaxes after seeing the baby cub breathing and hearing his cries, but notice the exhausted mom tense up again while lying on her side. Seconds later, the team gasps when they realize the cub has a twin, who doesn’t waste any time trying to catch up with his older twin.

While one Oklahoma mom of twins is a pro at multitasking, even she had reached her limit while trying to care for her babies and fill out important paperwork.

After a hit-and-run collision left Oklahoma mom Coty Vincent without a car, she went to her local Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get a rental car, but the already stressful task of filling out paperwork and dealing with the insurance company was even more difficult with two 11-month-old twins by her side.

Since Vincent didn’t have a double stroller that could hold both of her boys, she was forced to hold one in her arm, which made it nearly impossible to fill out the paperwork. Seeing that she was struggling, Enterprise employee John Goodlett offered to hold Vincent’s baby boy.

“This is John and he works at Enterprise. He’s also a twin and his twin sister is his best friend. While he helped me with my rental due to a hit and run accident, he held one of my twin sons as I don’t have a double stroller. One of the most compassionate and caring people I’ve ever met,” Vincent wrote after sharing a sweet photo of John with her son. “We need more people like John who go that extra step. Be a John.”

After Vincent’s post went viral, John’s bosses saw his good deed and wanted to repay both him and Vincent. “We were so moved by Coty’s Facebook post that we wanted to return the favor and do something special for her. Of course, we are also recognizing John for going the extra mile,” said the Enterprise team who purchased a double stroller for mom and have a surprise planned for John.

“It’s such a small act that’s touched so many people’s lives. What John did for me, and I’m sure what he’s done for many others, has just made a better day,” Vincent said.

Parents will take all the help they can get, and many rely on clever tools and appliances to make parenthood easier, but one Australian mom is urging parents to throw out this kitchen ‘life-saver’ after it almost cost her her life.

When faced with the age-old dilemma of what to make for dinner, Cassie Hodges and her partner Mark decided to make soup, but since their three kids were already getting hungry, they decided to use the pressure cooker since there wasn’t any time to use the slow cooker.

Mark put all the ingredients in the pressure cooker, and 25 minutes later, Cassie walked in with their 12-week-old son and saw dinner was ready. After putting the baby down and telling their two older daughters to sit at the table, she went back into the kitchen to help serve dinner.

“I walked back in to the kitchen and mark let the pressure release valve off to release the pressure, the steam came out the top as normal. Then I heard a click, suddenly I knew the lid unlocked and the next minute I was hit with something. The lid had unlocked and because it hadn’t finished releasing the pressure the lid flew off and the entire contents hit me like as if someone chucked a bucket of water at me, the noise of it was a loud sizzle,” Cassie remembers.

“I immediately screamed. My partner was holding his stomach and he pulled his arm back and his skin was all peeled off, I removed my singlet and ran to the shower,” said Cassie, who was left with burns to 12 percent of her body.

Cassie had to have all the dead, burned skin peeled off and was left unable to look after her children while she healed, but is sharing her story to warn other parents of how dangerous pressure cookers can be. “I will be ok , but I want to share my story, these pressure cookers are not safe. We did nothing wrong the machine unlocked prematurely, it should stay locked and unable to be opened until the pressure is all gone.”

“Please share this far and wide and throw your cookers out, or better yet, demand a refund. They are not worth it. 2 minutes earlier I was holding my son, my poor son could have been hurt. We are lucky! I want to make sure this never happens to anyone ever again,” Cassie said.
